Xbox live is having problems.

Xbox live is having issues right now which we hope is related to them implementing the new update for matchmaking. Fingers crossed!
go to the home screen and hit the start button on halo. Then select quit, have your friends do the same. Go back in and invite each other, that has been working for me mostly.
Can’t join any of my friend’s games. When I try to join i get the message, “Your connection to the host has failed.” He gets the same message when he tries to join me.
Xbox Live services say they’re up and running with no issues, so I don’t think they’re to blame in that respect. I’m having the same issues though; joining my friends is a complete hassle. In our party it says they’re in my game, but the roster in-game says I’m the only one. It’s getting really annoying at this point.
This issue still persists. It’s almost unbearably frustrating at this point. And then once you are in a game together? Good luck cause any second you just be disconnected at any moment. Like if the party leader backs out and starts the search again because it’s taking too long (what a surprise) everyone else is kicked from the party and has to go through the ordeal of trying to party back up. It’s a -Yoink!- joke at this point. If they even did any testing of this game they would see these blaring errors. But apparently they didn’t

Got this game and was so excited and now it’s marred. Me and my friend who met on halo ten years ago… Have spent ten hours and probably played four matches. Can’t join each other and then can’t find a game. Ugh. I give up. Thanks for taking my money.
Same problem here: impossible to join friend for coop game, nor same for him.
He accepts invite to game and…nothing happens.

Check support and put this thread in there as well.
Most people have already had this problem. Check Nat Type becuase 343 does not have much to do with this. Then check friends as well

how about the other person?
I can join friends Xbox live party and chat over the mic. Can play advanced warfare or ghosts together. Can’t join up here. All I want to do is play with friends. The studios seems to be more worried about fixing achievements and nameplate issues. This matchmaking is a joke. Seriously I expected errors at the launch, but nothing like this. Here we are 10 days later and still sucks. I bought the game strictly for multi-player. I’ll dabble in the campaign from time to time but multi-player is the heart and soul of halo in my opinion. Halo has always been more team oriented than other shooter games like duty and bf in my opinion. Shame you can’t play with you team (much less a balanced team). Good luck to all.

I can join a party with my friends, but we can’t play a game together. I have been patient with the game so far, but I was looking forward to getting in some games with my friends while we’re all on vacation, and this is very disappointing. What I don’t understand is how this can still be going on six weeks after launch. Any professional game developer would have done extensive beta testing before release. It’s feels like the game wasn’t tested at all.
