Hi everyone, I’m having a hell of a time trying to download MCC using the microsoft store/xbox game pass. At first I thought it was a problem with the store but I tested it by downloading outer worlds, Metro Exodus and Gears 5 - all 3 of them worked flawlessly, when I try to download Halo MCC it goes straight to download and does not ask me which drive I want to install it on (the other 3 did.) Not only that but if I try to cancel the download it does but goes right back to downloading it on it’s own but the only thing is it’s just stuck on downloading and the status bar is not moving at all. Windows is completely up to date and I have already done a WSRESET and went into application manager and reset Microsoft Store from the advanced menu, but the problem still continues. I called Microsoft support and quite frankly they suck…the guy wanted to do a check on my PC using the reinstaller and reinstalling windows is not an option for me…and I don’t see why I need to do this, the store is fine with every single game and app except MCC. anyone else having this trouble? Is there a fix? Thank you…I’m tempted to just buy it on Steam but why should I when I already have Game Pass??

Yea I have the same issue. The game actually installed with no issues on day 1 of release on PC but after playing it on Xbox it stopped working on the PC version. After uninstalling it on PC I can’t reinstall the game at all through the Microsoft Store. I was even able to reproduce what caused the error with my brother as he also owns MCC on PC and Xbox. It seems the issue comes with owning the game on both platforms through game pass. After I found this out I uninstalled it on Xbox and tried installing on PC but even that didn’t work. I spent 4 hours with Microsoft support trying absolutely everything including reinstalling windows 10 to no avail. Purchasing through steam seems to be the only way to play at the moment unfortunately. Hopefully Microsoft can get this sorted out soon as I prefer mouse and keyboard over controller and would much rather play on PC without having to buy it on Steam.
