Attempting to install Halo MCC on Windows 10 PC. I have Xbox Games Pass Ultimate and the Microsoft Store shows that I ‘own’ the game. When I click ‘Install on my devices’ I get a pop-up which then says “You don’t have any applicable devices linked to your Microsoft account.” I can install other Game Pass games on this PC with no issue (like Forza).
On my PC I am signed into the Xbox Companion App, the Microsoft Store, and Windows 10 with the email account associated with my Xbox Live and Games Pass account. I can see online at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/ that my desktop PC is associated with the same account.
I’m on Windows 10 1809 (17763.864).
> SOLVED – Update: It looks like I needed to update Windows to the very latest version (November 2019 update). To do this go on your Windows PC to Settings > Update & Security > then I had to click ‘Check for Updates’ and install a few basic updates, then after those were all done and the PC restarted, a new button appeared in the Update & Security window which said something like ‘Install Feature Update’ (FYI: it took a good 2 hours for it to download and then install after restarting). I’m now on Windows 10 1909 (18363.476) and was able to install MCC on my PC from the Windows Store without issue.

I have same issue, but the updates fails right after finishing "getting things ready 100%.
Getting different error messages, sometimes it says I have pending updates.
I feel like I’ve tried everything to install the latest update, nothing have seem to work.
Might have to reboot the entire computer at this point.

It wouldn’t even let me start the download, so I dug around and noticed that there was already a Reach-sized file in Program Files\WindowsApps\MSIXVC where the games are stored. Turns out I already had it pre-downloaded but MS store wasn’t recognizing it, and I didn’t have permission to touch the folder.
So I followed the tutorial at How to Take Ownership of a Folder in Windows 10 Using File Explorer | Laptop Mag to take over the folder, which worked and allowed me to rename and delete the Reach files, which told MS store that it could be downloaded again. Everything seems to be working so far.
Not sure if this will help, but like me, I’m sure everyone is trying everything they can at this point.
I was able to launch Reach. It gave me the same -Yoink-, but it turned out I could launch it as “Master Chief Collection” even though I only purchased Reach for PC. I got the error and all. It appeared to have failed installation, but I could launch it anyway.
I’d reccomend closing Microsoft Shi— I mean Store…and maybe restarting. It gave me the failure to install/no applicable BS too, and it still shows in my library as something I can launch.
Nevermind guys. I’m screwed too. This is a disappointment. It’s MCC on Xbox all over again. I want a refund.

I purchased it on Steam as well – a whole different set of issues there. This is, without a doubt, the most trouble i’ve EVER had with ANY GAME - EVER - to simply get it installed. I’ve been gaming since 1996, and this is the biggest POS experience since. What a pathetic joke. Can’t even get Microsoft to give me some help
how are we supposed to intall it then because I really want to play and it says my windows is upto date
Same Issue, I can’t even install. You should never have to troubleshoot this much in order to install a game on your PC. It’s totally ludicrous. Come on Microsoft, I never have this issues with Steam,Origin, U-play, Blizzard, Epic… I have the issues installing your Games on your own damn platform. It’s a joke, fix this crap.
Thanks!
