so i only play campaign every now and then but i hella wanna get all acheivements. the one where i assassinate the elite to survive the fall…i cant get!!! its driving me insane. any tricks to it? lol
Just keep trying at the beginning of PoA. It’s pretty touchy; you have to turn off sprint early in your jump so it registers the distance but not so early that you don’t make it to the elite. Maybe check YouTube for some pointers.
Well the only achievements preventing me from getting a perfect 49/49 (Map packs achievements aside) is this - and the “A New Challenger” one, the latter which i most definitely can do in Firefight - as for the POA one it just takes dozens of tries.
That achievement is glitched. Even if you do manage to assassinate the Elite successfully there’s a good chance you still won’t be awarded the achievement.
I obtained the achievement, but when I logged into my wifes account and landed the assassination (4 times) the achievement never unlocked for her. I don’t know if 343 is addressing this or not, or if its even been fixed by now but I’ve never heard any word of Bungie, 343 or Microsoft fixing it.

I may have some interesting news for you. I have heard rumours that since the TU, people without the map packs are able to get all the new achievements (apart from ones on specific maps, such as “You Blew It Up!”). I heard of somebody without the maps getting a Noble achievement the other day, maybe you could look in to it.

dude that happend to me too.
Yeah I had a hard time getting that achievement, but I found out that you have to stop using Sprint after you jump or you will survive the fall.
Yeah this achievement is glitched…I spent about 2 hrs getting this…I assinated the Elite sooo many time falling and stomping on him, an I never got it… i hope 343 does fix this, cuz thats bascially the only one I need
it took me 1hour and 100% rage, but it can be done

You have to turn off sprint almost right after you jump or it will register that you survived the fall.
One time when I was trying this with my friend and for some reason all fall damage turned off, so even if we did get the assassination it wouldnt have been a fatal fall so he wouldnt have gotten the achievement.

You have to turn off sprint manually by pressing LB before you start moving downwards. Otherwise the game gets a bit iffy and won’t award you that achievement.
I had to do this achievement twice, for me and on my wife’s account. And once I realised how you have to do it when I was doing it on my account, it was quite easy to get it on my wife’s.

I think that rumour is real thing. I got Noble Map Pack achievement where you need to do two double kills with shotgun even though I don’t have that map pack. Never realized, that you need to turn off sprint right before falling down. I first thought, that it’s just glitched achievement, so I gave up trying to get it.
Its not a glitch. Problem is, if you landed the fall, you wouldn’t die, so why should it register the assassination as a achievement unlock?

I have it but it was just a pain lol. After watching the AH vid on it I got it 1st try.

As other people mentioned, make sure to cancel sprint just as you jump. Also, I have heard that it will help if you drain your shields with a grenade before you jump. I don’t know, because I got the Achievement without doing that.
