If 343i doesn’t add the Mantis to more BTB maps and also add the Phaeton somewhere, those two Commendations will never, ever, ever, EVER be completed.

Ask nogodanywhere he is updating his viking (Valhalla remake) map and if you ask him he might add them there.

I hear what you are saying, adding some more vehicle variety to BTB is a good idea in my opinion.
As far as warzone, in order to boost your req level kill things (Bosses and AI help quite a bit), other Spartans, and be in bases when they get captured by your team. Your req level will go up pretty quick. I rarely have a match where I don’t hit nine. I can usually manage five or six when I get steamrolled by a full team. Get those early boss kills, clean out any AI you run into, and pick up a few kills and you’ll be fine. Don’t worry about burning a req especially a ghost/railgun just to get your levels up.
Your warzone win percentage is 51% so you seem to be exaggerating a bit. The mantis gunner isn’t that tough to get imo… now the phaeton gunner can be tough as it’s such a high req level and you don’t get many of them. I would only use them on storm break where you can stay above the garage for cover and apex 7 and use the columns above the spire for cover.
While I do agree there should be more vehicle variation in BTB, they are definitely not the hardest commendations to earn. I’m SR 146 and still haven’t got mongoose destroyer or Rockethog kills.

It just takes time to get them done. I’d only use them if you’re on a decent team unless you have a lot of them saved up.
I’ll also add that the ONI and Hannibal Mantis are the ones you want to be using since they have the lock-on feature which makes getting kills a lot easier.

Nope, no good. Whenever I play Assault a match always ends - one way or another - before I can even get to REQ Level 6, much less LV.8. Hell, most of my REGULAR Warzone matches end in defeat before I can get up to Level 8, and whenever I call in a Mantis I get, like, only one or two kills with it before it’s destroyed.

Phaeton helios and ONI or Hannibal mantis are your best bet and just because u can’t get them doesn’t mean no one else can I’m very close to maxing out mantis kills and I’m tier 4 for phaeton kills

You have to play better if you want your REQ level to move up faster. If you rely on your team, it’s not going to go up that much until they start killing bosses which isn’t even guaranteed.
With the Mantis, you have to try and play smart with it by knowing when to call one in and don’t charge the enemy base or you’ll just get boarded. The last thing is it takes time. It’s rare to get a lot of kills with it at once unless you have an ONI and the enemy team isn’t that great.

Pretty sure you still get the commendation points. I think it has happened to me before.
Meanwhile the only vehicle commendations I’ve completed are those related Vehicle Destruction, and only the ones that are possible through Firefight. I absolutely loathe using vehicles in Halo 5 because they all feel useless except the Scorpion and Banshee [Ultra], which is still too easy to sprint at and board.
Not even taking into account how much of a joke the Halo 5 Plasma turns them into.

The pattern I am sensing here is that you just aren’t very good with either once you actually use them, but of course you first have to even get to that level for the option. Not every WZ or WZA game is going to be incredibly one sided. Obviously there aren’t going to be more maps from 343 for BTB that will include either. So either join custom games or continue on with WZ (for your sake, I hope turbo comes back). Otherwise, no one here can really help you.
I feel your pain OP, but it’s mostly just because I haven’t gotten many of those reqs. I just got to gold not too long ago and I’ve finally been able to get some kills under my belt. I luckily got a Hannibal Mantis in a daily login pack the other day and used it. It was a blast! It was a shame that a random spartan stealth boarded me. RIP H. Mantis; I hope to see you again someday, lol!
The BTB playlist needs an overhaul with some maps that really focus on vehicle gameplay; I’ve seen some great ones in the community that should be used. Getting some more maps with a Mantis and Phaeton would help those who can’t get the reqs any time soon.
