Cant fire up halo 5?

Im signed into my xbl account and every time i try to start the game it gives me an error and tells me to insert a disc (which I never own because I bought the game from the app store).
Anyone else experiencing this?

Update/edit: it won’t let me play any games i bought through the app store, not just Halo 5.

Anyone else know what’s happening/how to fix it? I’ve hard reset my xbox and disconnected from the Internet (as if that was going to help)

Doing the same thing to me. Once I actually put the disc in, it still won’t let me start. XBL is having issues.

I’m sorry to hear it’s happening to you, but i do feel a little better knowing it’s not just me haha

Xbl has been giving me a lot of little problems lately. I guess that’s what you get with a free to play service /sarcasm

Xbox Live is currently having problems:

Here’s what I’ve done:

set my console offline (you can at least launch the game that way)
play campaign ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Also, once the game is running, set your console back to online for when it’s ready.

I started downloading MCC during my lunch break, and I was eager to get some quality time with ODST and H5 after work. Apparently I’m going to spend the evening being a responsible adult instead.

I can’t start YouTube, Hulu, or Netflix either.
I own mcc on disk and that worked fine though. Was even able to play a couple online matches

It appears to just be digital downloads. I assume there’s a backend service that verifies you’re using a genuine copy of the game and not some cracked version on an external drive, and apparently that’s what’s down. Since they can’t verify our games/apps are genuine, they just don’t allow them to open.
