so I live in Australia and have never had an issue with the halo 5 servers or multiplayer connections but for about a month now I can’t find players for certain game types such as big team battle and warzone assault. It just searches for ages and then says unable to match. Then i hop into slayer or warzone and get connected into a match instantly. I try this at different times of the day and night and still no btb matches 
is this an issue for anyone else?
NZ here cannot find a btb match in the day at all and only sometimes at night, have played one game of war zone assault.
Slayer and arena are ok at night but struggle to find matches in the day.
At least I’m not the only one. It’s weird because im guessing there’s still a good player population in halo 5 multiplayer it must be something to do with the servers

Hello I’m from Australia to,
I bought an xbox one for Christmas with Halo 5 and so did afew of my friends.
For months we all were talking about how fun it will be to play multiplayer online together against other people and for almost a month now we’ve waisted every afternoon sitting infront of a red and grey screen that says “UNABLE TO FIND PLAYERS”.
Now I will say that on most occations we’ve had good luck with getting onto warzone but when it comes to team arena, slayer and all the rest of them we just can’t get matches. I recently read a post from an Aussie that said (it should’ve been called Halo 5: Warzone… How sad is that!)
Playing on my own, I’ve only been able to connect to a few arena/slayer matches only in the first few days that I bought the console and since then I have not been able to play at all!! Almost a month of frustration and anger I paid $600 for!!!
I’ve spent most my time going online and reading posts and forums trying to find out what is wrong rather than playing the game, how sad is that!!
Everything I’ve read I’ve noticed that so many people from Australia are so pissed off that they can’t find arena/warzone matches are actually selling there xbox one because they can’t be bothered to wait for a match anymore and they purely bought the xbox one for Halo 5!!
The worst part is 343 or who ever is responsible for our servers isn’t even showing us a sign that they care or that they are working on it or SOMETHING!!!
Come on guys, save Halo 5’s Australian fans…Thank you.
Hi I’m Brazilian and this problem is happening here as well. I bought halo 5 on Christmas and I can’t find a single match of any other game mode besides warzone and slayer.ive been playing halo since halo 3 and what kept me buying halo till halo 5 was big team battle now I can’t play it.and the worst part of it is that 343 doesn’t give a -Yoink- about anyone besides North America and europe
It doesn’t work properly in the UK either, I have not been able to get into a multiplay game in area for days now.
Looks like BTB is dead.
Apparently there isn’t enough players to be found. Wow, already!?
Not surprising tbh with a) no region locked servers, b) absolute garbage maps, seriously, how bad are those forge maps. Give us original maps ffs 343i.
Open NAT and the past week it’s been struggling to find BTB.
I’m in the UK and having a lot of difficulty finding matches, especially in arena. Only been happening the past few days since 343 have apparently changed their “algorithms” to “improve” matchmaking speeds.
This needs to be brought to their attention, it would be nice to be able to play more than a handful of games a day. I never had an issue before
I’m in Ohio and ever since, started to be a problem in early February, I qualified in Free for all, Swat, and slayer I have been unable to match unless I’m on a fire team.
Matches I get now are;
- Normal Warzone
- Griffball
- Team slayer
- SWAT
I’d like to make it clear that I’m really lucky to get swat, because since launch I only had maybe 2 matches until I started finding them again last week.
But this is ridiculous. I was hoping to play warzone assault or free for all but haven’t had one match since launch.
I’m form Italy. Same issue here since early February.

I am receiving the same problem, I absolutely love Halo I bought the console just for this game but so far I honestly have to say that I really am beginning to lose interest with the amount of things going wrong. Please don’t let Halo die.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve pretty much given up on Free For All (which I still call Lone Wolves because Halo 3 was awesome and I’m old-school lol) but it’d be nice to get regular traffic in Breakout at least because I really like the game type.
Has there been any word or sign on improvement for this in the last month? I’m a big Halo fan, but the whole situation is really screwing the pooch for me a bit.

Some days ago they finally acknowledge the issue.
After weeks of battle we’ve finally got 343i attention on this problem.
Here you can reach a thread 343 opened to gather all the possible infos from players to study a proper solution to Region Lock restriction issue.

Even in the U. S., I don’t match into Breakout games quite often. I believe that the player numbers are just low for that queue.
