Can't Find Enemies in Mythic FF

I just had a frustrating round 0 finish on mythic FF on Temple. The objective was to kill 100 grunts. We killed 64 grunts, and then we couldn’t find any more grunts. We spent 3 minutes roaming the map looking for the enemy. We couldn’t find anything. We lost the match and I burned a mission victory XP boost.

Kinda pissed about this and wondering if others have had this happen.

This is actually a bug that can happen. It’s not super common but does happen if your team isn’t careful. This won’t be patched as Halo 5 isn’t getting updates anymore.

Long story short: If your team kills enemies too quickly it can bug the game and won’t spawn more.

Longer explaination:
It’s essentially triggered by players spawn killing the enemies too quickly. If the enemies haven’t loaded in properly and are then killed during that process the game doesn’t count them as spawned in yet and therefore won’t spawn any more.

The spawn waves are based on that number of kills needed. Y’all liked 64 but the remaining 6 to hit the 70 killed wave were probably killed too quickly and bugged the game.

I hope that made sense, I just woke up so it might sound a bit muddled haha.

It’s that or the enemies are hiding in places you don’t expect. Once I found a grunt hiding on the floor above temple.

If they are hiding best to req ghosts so you can move from one end of the map to the other.

Thank you for the replies. That makes sense. We were definitely killing the grunts pretty fast.

I’m frustrated that the solution is basically giving up since I can’t control how quickly my teammates kill the grunts.

I’m a little pissed that if there’s a known bug, it can’t get fixed, but then again, I think I’d rather have all of their attention on getting infinite ready

Sadly Warzone FireFight never got much love, it released pretty late into the games life span and didn’t really get patched all that much.
That bug is one that just never got fixed unfortunately.

Glad I could shed some light in the issue.

I forget the name of a winter looking map but when I would do a protect the core round after killing everything fast the whole team waits like 4 minutes with no enemies.

Yea getting punished for moving too quick is always a bummer especially if your speedrunner like me always pushing to see how many seconds the team can shave off. Fortunately Mythic FF is hard enough that outside the first round its a pretty rare occurrence so not much time is lost.

It’s been known for a very long time that the best way to avoid frustration on Firefight is to not play with randoms. Due to several players who were diligent with data keeping on their 152 grinds. Playing with randoms results in a 27% win rate on Mythic. That number is significantly higher if you play in organized firefight groups.

Yeah my winrate on mythic is pretty low. I’m not sure exactly what it is but I bet it’s pretty close to 27%. I usually only play with randoms. I guess it’s probably worth looking for organized groups. Thanks for the reply!
