Can't enter rank without Headset?

I’m getting very tired of players not having mics and not calling out when in rank it is all about teamwork and communications.

So should you be able to enter a ranked playlist if you have no Mic or are in a party?

I used to play with a headset and it’s slowly gotten to the point where I don’t like to unless i’m with a friend. so to play rank, it shouldn’t be required, to play hard core slayer or something like that, fine, i won’t play that by myself normally anyway. I wan’t to be able to play ranked playlist when i don’t want to talk, as well as it makes it so i’m against people with similar skill levels.

I stay in party most of the time so I’d just plug it in to get into ranked and switch back to party chat

I’ll agree with that because I want it for Hardcore slayer for H2C and I want Hardcore for H3 but there not ranked so no point

yeah, there’s times where might want to talk, but that’s not often. it would definitely push a lot of new players away(or just people like me who just don’t talk a lot, unless it’s someone I know). It would force me to only play one or two of the playlists. the hard core playlist is made for it though.

I usually have a mic in, but you see the problem is not that people do not have mics, no usually alot of the “micless” people are actually in parties as those are more stable for talking and more private. When I run solo I cannot tell you how many times the people who actually have mics are obnoxious idiots that I have to end up muting anyways. For example, spouting pointless profanities like “I am gonna have -Yoink!- with your mom etc. etc.” or blasting music into their mics, I just do not see the point of using a mic with these people. It is not like the days of old in H2 and H3 it is just not.

exactly the reason i stopped using a mic unless i’m with a friend. halo 2 and 3 still had plenty though.

What a stupid idea. Some people do not like to talk when playing games and that is fine. I already mute anybody who speaks in matchmaking as they always tend to speak some try hard language that I don’t understand. Plus i just want to hear the sounds of the game. Not some -Yoink- telling me where to go or whos got what weapon or whatever!

That’s just stupid! I don’t want to be forced to talk to people and listen to children with horrible microphones, or babies crying in the backround of someone using the kinect, or someone obnoxiously playing music over the microphone. I also don’t want to listen to people telling me where to go and what to do. Out of all the ides suggested to improve the MCC’s matchmaking, this has got to be the absolute worst one I’ve ever heard.

People with mics always seem to forget that their mic-less teammates can still hear them. One-way communication may not be as good as two-way, but it’s better than nothing. Put in your mic, make your callouts, and you’ll see from what they do that they’re listening. That’s something anyway.

I played 3 games of TS last night after work and won them all. Ranked up to a 23 and went to bed. Didn’t use my mic at all. Mica so make a huge difference tho to win
