I can join any other type of matchmaking in Halo 5 Guardians EXCEPT for Breakout. All attempts to start matchmaking (whether alone or as leader of a fireteam) time-out after several minutes. Other users on my console can get into breakout easily, and I can join breakout matches when I’m a member of someone else’s fireteam. I have had multiple profile sync errors, and have already tried deleting saved user data and even removing my profile from my console. Short of uninstalling the entire game, I cannot come up with any solution for fixing my matchmaking woes.
I really like the other game modes, and have no problems enjoying them, however I also like Breakout and would love to play it again sometime…

seriously, ANYONE with an idea, PLEASE let me know. I’m completely shut out from Breakout… Can’t even get in when with other people now…
I’m in the same situation, not only on Breakout but also on BTB, WZA and every other playlists in some times of the day.
All this is due to Region Lock, enabled by 343 on early February in order to limit the number of lagging matches with people overseas. They didn’t think that this block would bring to users the total inability to play the game in certain situations (lack of local population for example).
well its crazy, but about 5 minutes after I posted I ACTUALLY got into a match… And then KEPT getting into matches. I’d have posted my success, but I was worried I’d jinx it. Haven’t tried tonight yet. So… Region lock and lack of local population… Well, seems legit. Maybe something was tweaked. I’d have been pretty pleased if someone from 343 had actually said as much, though…

Finally, after weeks of battle, we’ve got 343i attention on Region Lock problem.

It’s not a region lock problem, this problem has existed for so long that it’s absolutely ridiculous that it hasn’t been fixed yet.
I’m in the same boat as this guy… there is something that is bugging some players out of being able to join breakout games as strange as it sounds that it is a specific mode issue.
I can join any other game type, except breakout, unless i’m with specific friends in a fireteam.
Here’s the even stranger thing… I played in the beta, my friends that also played in the beta have the same issue… but my friends that did not play in the beta can get breakout games immediately. Unfortunately sometimes our schedule doesn’t match where we can play breakout at the same time so those times I’m SOL…
On top of that, when I have played with those friends that can get breakout matches, we’ll play our 10 games to gain rank and they’ll get in the silver rankings, but no matter how many games I win in those 10 placement matches, I always come out with bronze 1 when they get silver… and we played the exact same games and most of the time I placed higher than them with kills (if that even matters)!
I’m just absolutely shocked that this is still an issue. I’ve posted over and over again within the past year and a half and absolutely nothing has even been looked at regarding the problem…
so frustrating…
