I hadn’t been on in a couple weeks so I know there had been 2 updates. When I signed on it downloaded the 523mb but said nothing about the 100mb one. I hard reset n turned on again and didn’t promt for one. Did it download both or not, is there a way to tell?
So I tried playing halo 3 playlist and got a game quick and voted then before game started I got disconnected. So either I didn’t get update or its crap.
So I finally got a game and when it ended I had to press B to back out so I guess I got the update but it’s just crap.
Same here man, I was never prompted and I can’t get into a -Yoinking!- game. Idk if our systems just downloaded it automatically… either way its not working for me rn
Update helped me with connect times but i get the black screen in menus a lot
Hard reset your xbox. That should help with the black screens, and other issues.
I have found that whenever I have an issue finding a game or getting connection failed errors, what works for me is to go to the dashboard -> hit start -> select quit -> wait 10 secs or so for the game to completely close and then reboot halo. After that, when I load up multiplayer it typically will pop up with a “Downloading latest Matchmaking Data” screen. After it downloads any new data I can usually find a game without any issues. For some reason I don’t typically get this screen if I just back out to Halo’s main menu and re-enter multiplayer. This makes me think the game is trying to matchup people with different matchmaking data which leads to failed connections/sitting at searching for players indefinitely. This might also explain why people have better luck finding a game after hard rebooting the console as this seems to trigger updating the data as well. Of course this is all just speculation on my part, but I’ve been able to play over 150+ games since launch so it seems to be working for me.
One exception for this working seems to be BTB. After the latest patch I haven’t been able to find a BTB game. The last time I checked was a day after the patch though, so it could be better by now. Prior to the patch I didn’t have any issues with BTB (aside from occasionally having to quit out of halo and reload it every now and then to update the data).
I need help my multiplayer does not work. Every time I press find a game it says"downloading the lastest matchmaking date please wait…" Can any one help me fix this problem?
You won’t like my answer, but it’s the facts.
I’ve had to reinstall every time I get the “downloading latest data” message.
Reason is, it’s actually NOT downloading the latest data, it’s stuck. So, until they release a patch for this fix, the hundreds of us with this concern get to uninstall and reinstall every time there’s an update.
IT SUCKS!!! For some people it takes DAYS to redownload. I’m on my 6th time (last night) redownloading this massive game because of the “downloading latest data” nightmare. Then, as usual… They’ll release an update within a week or two and I’ll have to start the process all over again until they release an update that FIXES this issue.
SOME people have tips and tricks to get it to work… clearing MAC address, hard restart, changing console name, spamming the stuck screen… All good and great if that works for them but I know HUNDREDS of people that NOTHING works but reinstalling. My friend reinstalled his, THREE hours later got the stuck data screen and had to reinstall again (3 hours later there was an update), he’s done… Nuked his game.
Don’t bother calling 1-800-4-my-xbox. I was hung up on 3 times, told to contact 343 myself via forum (hence no good answers here for the specific issue), trouble shooted my network & console till there was nothing else to test. It’s the game, NOT A NETWORK OR CONNECTION. Its sad, but it’s the cold hard truth.
