Hi,
I’ve just bought Halo Wars 2 ultimate edition digitally and I have downloaded it on Xbox One. I was able to download Halo Wars 2 on PC but when I tried to download the season pass and Halo Wars definitive edition it said it was not available on this device even though it said it at the same time it was play anywhere. I contacted Microsoft support and they directed me here. What can I do to play this content on my PC?
- In Windows 10, go to the search/Cortana bar
- type in ‘store’
- Login to the Store app with your gamertag that owns it
- Click on your picture in the near upper right in the Store app.
- In the search window to the right of your gamertag picture
- Type in ‘Halo Wars’ and select ‘Halo Wars: Definitive Edition’ from the list
- This should take you to the store page for it, where you should have an ‘Install’ button
- If it says ‘Install’, press it, otherwise report back please.

I bought Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition for XBox One and Windows 10 but sadly can’t download it ever since to my Windows 10 PC.
I am running Windows 10 64bit on this hardware:
MSI Z97 GAMING 5
Intel Core i7 4790k
NVidia GeForce GTX TITAN X 12GB GDDR5
16 GB RAM
I followed all the posted steps above without any positive result. Also I am already in contact with the XBox Support and they could not help me either.
Please answer as soon as possible.

First I tried the Direct link and it took me to the store where it prompted me to buy it for £15. I then tried the steps from your original reply and in the search bar two options appeared for Halo Wars definitive edition, the first was listed as a game and the second one was listed as a add-on. When I accessed the one that was listed as a game it said the same thing as direct link which was to buy it and when I tried the one that was listed as a add-on the only option that appeared was to share. What else can I do?

Don’t buy it, from what I can tell you should own it, I’m not sure why you don’t. I’m going to escalate this through the offer people and see why its not showing as owned for you.
Can I get you to check if the store says you own HW:DE for your Xbox? I don’t need you to download it, just check to see if it says you own it.
Where did you buy this from? Did you buy it from Xbox.com? Did you buy it through the Windows 10 Store?

Did you try the direct link from above? What does the button say for you? It should say ‘Get’. If it is asking you to buy it, don’t. I have escalated this to look at why its broken.
Did you buy it from Xbox.com? Did you buy it through the Windows 10 Store?
The problem is that whoever the two of you bought it from, are issuing old codes. Please let me know who you bought them through. We are working on fixing the issue, but would like to follow up with whoever is issuing the old codes.

I bought mine from Best Buy online, in the US. Just like they said, I own Halo Wars 2 on PC, but the DLC and Halo Wars: DE is only available on Xbox for me, and I don’t have an xbox, so it does me no good.

I bought mine from amazon.de. It was offered during the Prime Days and clearly listed as Download Code for XBox One and Windows 10 PC.
I clicked on the direct link and could buy it again but stopped there, as you suggested. I does not show as “owned”. Instead it just offers me to buy it again.

I appreciate your effort on this, and I will patiently await the fix. UPDATE: I’m able to install Halo Wars:DE now, but I still cannot download the DLC from Halo Wars 2 UE included in the season pass.
On PC you don’t have to download the leaders, it should say you Own them on the page, and they should be unlocked in the UI of Halo Wars 2. Please verify this is the case for you.
I’m having a similar problem. It’s been a while since this thread stopped but I’m totally new to the forums. I bought the ultimate edition a little while back on xbox, but now I cant buy it on PC. The store says I own the Halo Wars DE but not Halo Wars 2. Any fix?
