After a few months of not using my Xbox I decided I wanted to play some halo 5. So I get on my Xbox and I bought a year of live earlier in 2016 and I I play a few games of team slayer. Then all of the sudden the game kicks me to the lobby and every time I try to select a new menu it tells me “Attention unable to connect to halo 5 lobby service.” I figured it was just being glitchy so I restart my console. This time I cannot sync to the game and I get an error message with no code stating I am unable to connect to the halo 5 lobby’s at this time. So I restarted my router and Xbox over and over only to get the same messages each time. I’ve checked my connection through settings and it says that I’m connected to the Internet. I’ve read that this can have to do with my NAT and mine is on moderate and it reads all services are available. Any input into my situation would be appreciated as I am at a complete loss.
More then likely the servers are having issues… There are a lot of people taking advantage of the free play. So im sure the servers are a bit stressed. But also having your Nat set to Moderate doesn’t help matters any… To be honest if it isn’t Open your bound to encounter troubles with the game. I would try and change your Nat type to Open and also make sure your wired… Give that a try. Good luck!
Look into ‘Port Forwarding’ for your brand and model of router (don’t worry it’s easy). Which should fix your NAT problem, that will help ALOT.
You may need to set your xbox on a static route - essentially just means assigning a local IP address to it on your router, then using that address to connect in the advanced network settings page on the xbox.
Thankyou I’ll give these a try, I was able to get into a few games shortly after I posted this but I’m experiencing the same difficulties today as I was yesterday. I really appreciate the help.
