Whenever I try to play H3 or (lol)Reach, it says that “information cannot be retrieved” or “Halo Reach/Halo 3 server cannot be contacted.” When I go to the custom game lobby in H3, it shows my rank OK, so my SR is being read OK. In Reach, it just shows that I’ve never played it before (even though I have).
I’ve tried clearing the system cache, logging out/back in, restarting xbox, restarting game. None of it works and I just give up for a few weeks hoping that it will right itself, but it hasn’t. I remember it once worked for a few hours, then started happening again.
This has been happening for a few months now, and it’s not worrying me too much, because I rarely play anymore, but sometimes, I wouldn’t mind a bit of Halo 3 Social Slayer or even Reach snipers or something like that…
There has been a few threads the past months about people with the same problem. I think New Zealand had some big issues due to something done over their network according to a thread. Anyway here is a big thread about same problem
I’m a kiwi and I haven’t had any issue regarding online matchmaking. Are you sure you have your router set up right?
As for me I had to ‘unclick’ the boxes on my netgear,
go to router setting page.
Go to advanced settings, then WAN setup.
turn on UPnP.
turn off ‘Disable Port Scan and DOS Protection’.
turn off ‘Disable SIP ALG’.
Try it then.
Then add ‘fr1sky gorilla’ to your friends list lol!!
