I am only deciding to post this now as I have a sudden craving to play Halo Reach. I have Xbox Live and I can’t connect to the Halo Reach Servers, or any other Halo server for that matter.(Not including Halo Wars)It claims that I am a recruit when I am easily a Lieutenant Commander III. This has not changed for 8 months after I stopped playing it, as I hoped it would sort itself out if I let it be, but it hasn’t. I’ve noticed that other people have finally been having the same problems as I am and I am hoping someone can help me figure this out. Many people have told me to unplug my router or turn off my xbox, which is completely ridiculous. Others are guessing that I’ve been banned permanently, even though I’ve only been banned once after my idiot brother tried to credit boost. Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve been hearing about calling my ISP about it but they said that I have to contact Bungie. I’ve also been told to reset my modem or router though I don’t understand how to do that as I’m not the one that set it up. If it helps, my nat type is open.
This is a common network problem. Try doing the following:
- Restart your router by unplugging it and then waiting 5-10minutes before plugging it back in. Try Reach and see if it changed.
- Sign off and back in your xbox live system.
- Play a couple of matchmaking rounds and it will pop back to normal.
- IF you’re still boosting then you will get on a longer ban than previous.
- NAT problems with others = lag = everyone experiencing network difficulties.

Bungie doesn’t run Halo anymore. Its 343 Industries/Microsoft, so contact them about the issue. The recent posts made by other forums users are posistive options, so see if you follow threw on making sure u take your time. I thought i would just fill you in on who is in charge of The Halo series. The options you have also posted about contacting you ISP is correct. Some providers don’t give out the positive bandwith and Upstream to run games or even have a solid connection to Xbox live. Contact your internet provider if you can’t have Microsofts assistants to help you with your situation. If you reply post your interenet provider and i can do my best to help u with any other questions if needed…
