canon explenation for halo CEA marine and Reach army trooper armor

well I was thinking. Reach already lost a lot of good technology when it was destroyed. what if the armor was a prototype for marines and army troopers that was being tested on Reach, the marines would have been equiped with it because of red flag. and when they were attacked they started useing a bunch of prototypes like the grenade launcher

plus if it was a prototype that would explain why we never see it in halo 2 or 3. because it was lost with reach and the PoA.

what do you think of my idea?

The Marine armor in Halo Reach looks more like the Marine armor in Halo 1 than any later iteration ever did. There is no canon reason for the changes, it’s simply a design choice.

Must everything have some massive canon explanation?

Marines can wear the same uniform as Army troopers. Simple as that.

The soldiers you see fighting in the beginning section of the Pillar of Autumn level where Boneyard would be in Halo: Reach are Marines for example despite having the same armor configuration as Army troopers.
