Cannot watch anything

Halo channel isn’t letting me watch the last episode of nightfall, all the terminal videos, or the cutscenes and it’s been getting on my nerves.this has been going on since the last episode of nightfall was released. So is there anything I can do to fix it?

Well, let’s see what we can figure out:

  1. Does it allow you to select Play for those items?
  2. If it does, what happens when you try to play?
    -Screen goes black, sometimes get ambient music?
    -Bumper video (coming up screen) then swap to another video?
  3. Has any hardware changed since you last successfully watched a video… did you add a new soundbar or change TVs or add an HDMI splitter or capture device/DVR?
  4. Have you added new security or parental control software to your home internet, something such as Norton that sits between your modem/router, and everything else, in order to prevent watching stuff that, um, may contain violence or other stuff?
  5. Have you tried closing Halo Channel completely (Hit the big X Guide button in middle of the controller, from dashboard, while HC is selected, hit the Menu button, select Quit)
  6. If you have done the above, have you completely powered down your Xbox One (Hold power button for abot 30 seconds, it should fully shut off, then unplug power for about 2-3 minutes to let it fully turn off) then restart everything and try again?

If you can let me know the answers to some of these, specifically what behavior you are seeing, it will make this a lot easier to figure out!

1,2,5 and 6 I’ve done but 3 and 4 have not done anything that would require me to do those but it sometime gives me a message saying oops this content cannot not be played.

So the only content that has issues is the Nightfall, Terminals and Cut Scenes? Content such The Bulletin, The Sprint, etc works correctly? And is your gamertag the same as your forum name?

It just says “that’s not right”

Correct any of my assumptions below if they are not correct, but I am assuming the following:
a) You are attempting to watch on Xbox One
b) You have either the Digital edition of MCC/Nightfall or Physical MCC+Nightfall and have redeemed the 5x5 (25 character code)
c) Other videos such as The Bulletin and The Sprint work correctly

Establishing that as a baseline, in order to troubleshoot, I need a little more info:
a) What TV/Monitor are you connected to? (Make and Model preferably, so I can investigate any known issues there)
b) Do you have any hardware between your Xbox One and the TV? Any of the following items, for example:

  • Soundbar
  • HDMI multiport box
  • DVR/Cable Box with DVR capabiliity
  • Stream/Broadcast hardware or software (such as hardware to stream Twitch)
  • Video capture software or hardware
  • DNS or Firewall software on your home network router? (Such as Norton ConnectSafe, or any software that manages your router to prevent access to a watchlist of sites or content)

I ask about the last bit because we have had multiple users report that, for example, Norton ConnectSafe blocked some of the Halowaypoint access due to ‘Violence’, and other programs recognize Halo as ‘mature’ rated content, and have blocked user access because of the ratings

I have the same problem.

I have xbox one, and i own the MCC game and gamer tag is JuhaniFi. My xbox is on NAT moderate mode. I have set static ip and rerouted all necessary ports directly to xbox IP without luck. Since the beginning I wasn’t able to watch anything. But mostly I just gave up. Nowadays I have used to that every game or their support services are big pile of buggish sh*t. I just gave it a shot because today is the last beta day.

So I have my right to watch these… so maybe I just need to “figure it out” how to get these episodes on my pc :slight_smile:

This may not be the same issue but I am also seeing Content can not be displayed at this time but instead its for halo nightfall and halo fall of reach. Im not sure if its a different problem because I bought Halo Nightfall on Microsoft store. Please get back to me soon because i’m not sure whether I should refund Halo Nightfall entirely or just wait for it to fix by itself. My Gamertag is NoobPower363
