title says it all, i cant mute people before the game starts and also cannot mute them while in game. i have already tried restarting the game and restarting the xbox but both do not work. there’s no way my game is just stuck like this now is it? i would contact 343 but theres no button to contact support so i guess they dont give a damn about me. for the love of god, i just want to play some halo without being constantly bombarded by little squeakers that talk nonstop in every -Yoinking!- game i play
Clicking right stick in the pregame lobby should mute everyone
yes i know, but that is not working for me, i will click my right stick before game and it will go from saying (mute players) to (unmute players) but the players wont actually be muted, i can still hear them…
You could try starting a party and being the only one in it.

This is what I have to do sometimes. Most of the time the mute all button works, but sometimes it stops working after a few matches so this would be the quick fix. Alternatively you could manually mute the person(s) you want to by going to their gamercard.

One that that usually fixed any hiccups in the game for most is doing a hard reset, hold the power button down till the Xbox shuts off then I would unplug the power cord from the back of the Xbox for a few seconds for good measure and then restart and relaunch the game. Granted not sure if this will fix this issue as I never encountered it. But starting a party chat with only yourself in it should work.
The mute button in the lobby as someone mentioned stops working after a few matches.
During a game you can press select to get the scoreboard view and in that screen you can press X to mute all players and that always works for me. Quite useful when someone decides to share their lousy music in the middle of a match.

I have the same problem. The click right thumb stick used to work, doesn’t anymore. Really gets annoying listening to potato chips crunching or some idiot that thinks he’s Beyonce’… Not to mention the 10yr old’s fighting who’s going to be the gunner on their Warthog…I can go on and on… sigh…
