Cannot join party (NAT type open)

Hi!

I was wondering why my friend cannot join my party or I cannot join his party, despite his NAT being open? Mine is moderate (and I cannot change it) and I can join other players party who have moderate/open NAT, and they can join mine. Why is it that with this one friend it doesn’t work?

We can both join a 3rd player party and this way play together, but it’s rather annoying trying to find a 3rd friend all the time. (And not all other people work for this, I guess they need to have open NAT as well)

NAT isn’t everything, routing tables aren’t everything.

If you are using wifi, dont’, stick an ethernet cable in.

Better yet you both need to do this…

Power off everything that is wifi/networked, thats phones, laptops, sky boxes etc etc then reboot your router, then make sure the FIRST thing to be booted up and connected is your xbox…

This gets around all my problems of partying issues.

Didn’t help  Any more advice?

what is your routers make/model and your buddies?

For borderlands 2, i had to set up port forwarding on my friends router for us to be able to connect

If you have a DMZ option on your router it is best to put your Xbox IP in there… that will open up all traffic to your Xbox.

I have the EXACT SAME problem. Can only join thru a third person. I connect thru my on-campus college housing, which supplies plenty of bandwidth, thru my laptop. Then I use an ethernet cable to connect the laptop to my xbox using internet sharing. I’ve tried every possible thing to get my NAT type open. Nope, just moderate. Even with no firewall.

(I cannot connect physically to a router)

And yes, I experience tons of lag, and still have a decent K/D

I have the exact same problem as Ceddy, i cant join my friends party/game, he runs off of the same campus internet, i cant even join his party/game even if i try iphone tethering to play either. Its very annoying and if anyone can come up with a solution that would be awesome. We both have OPEN nat’s
