Ok, so I know I can cheat and get it, but I really wanted to get it for real. The problem? I stole THREE – no lie – flags from the enemy’s capture zone and I still did not get the achievement. I can’t figure out why. Yes, all three flags scored (I didn’t just run them back and leave them). The only thing I can think is that at least one time, one of my teammates moved my flag, but I still got credit for scoring it.
Similarly, in another game, I stole one flag successfully. When I scored the second, an enemy grabbed the flag for exactly one second before I killed him. Is that the reason I didn’t get credit.
Overall, just want to know if it’s glitched or I’m just doing something wrong.
Do you have the map pack?
Looks like you have the map pack because you’ve played the defiant playlist, don’t know why it wouldn’t have worked, probably your teammate touching the flag is what i’m guessing. They work on any map as well, so that’s not the problem
You can do them in customs though, just sign in a guest controller and have the guest put a flag in the capture zone then you steal it and return it. This is how I did all the defiant achievements.
Only thing you need is the gametypes from your temp history. Or i’ve got all 3 in my fileshare if you need them.

Thanks much. Am thinking i will use the custom game method since I did really score those flags, but it bugs me why the achievement didn’t unlock. I have to assume it was because teammates picked up flag at some point (not sure why). I think I found the right custom gametype but will check back with your file share if not. Appreciate it.
I did finally get the achievement, by the way.
Couldn’t bring myself to just set up a custom game, but played in a multiplayer match. In the end, I think its important to note that nobody can touch the flag after you set it down if you want to get the achievement. if its an opponent or your own teammate, it doesn’t matter – no achievement. At least that’s my read based on multiple times where I got the flag from the opponent’s base to my own but did not have the achievement unlocked. When I finally got it, I put both flags in there with only seconds to spare and nobody had a chance to score (although in one case a teammate really saved my bacon. I died with three seconds to collection and an enemy on my tail. A teammate shotgunned him, however, before he could touch my flag.)
If a teammate picks up the flag it no longer counts as yours.
I got the achievement because a teammate kept taking our flags out of our area and i kept putting them back in.
If there was a transition of hands on your way, someone else picked it up, or you dropped it on your way back to your capture point then it gets cancelled out. So if any of those happened then it doesn’t count.
