When this was announced, they said you could install the map pack directly to Reach.
However, for the past 3 months and HaloFest I haven’'t seen them talk about this feature at all. They still say “You can either play the maps on the halo anniversary disc or buy the map pack for Halo Reach at a later date”
How does it work if its still on? Is it a menu option?
Okay then, i think there are going to be two dlcs for those who wants the classic Multiplayer maps.
First will include 3 MP maps for 800
Second will include 3 MP maps for 800
and maybe the firefight maybe only for halocea since it has features that reach wont have.
From what I understand you can install Reach to your HD and then play the maps off of the CEA disc. And I’m hoping the Marines will be added to Firefight as a whole and not just the new map.
Here’s the deal:
Halo: CEA comes with one disc. The multiplayer component is run on the Reach engine. You get matchmaking, customs, Firefight, Forge, and Theater. But only for the 7 maps on the disc.
Now, CEA will come with a voucher to download the 7 maps to your harddrive, like a map pack. You will then be able to access these maps from the Reach disc.
The maps will be exportable to your hard drive for play in Reach. They will be treated like any other map pack.
You can download the maps off of Halo CEA (not sure if it’s a disc or one of those scratch cards) which will let you download the 7 new maps. Alternativley you can download Reach to your hard drive which will let you use all of the Reach maps on your Halo CEA disc. DLC will appear on both of the discs
I think that’s right.

You cannot download the maps from the Reach disc and access them from halo CEA. CEA will only give you access to the maps on the disc, and likely, the DLC to date.
