I did this just because of what the new teaser trailer showed us, and out of curiosity. I’m not sure if we even get to play as another character in the next Halo game, but suppose you are and you do have to kill the Chief. What would you do?

IF the situation is done right sure. But thats not going to happen at all , at least not for the next 2-3 games
I love MC but I think the halo universe is bigger than John at this point. We will be seeing his last game at some point and might be a good way to do it, he has done amazing thing for humanity and now he is being betrayed by everyone, us (the players) killing John would be the ultimate betrayal, that would be a strong ending.
Well, I think I’d have to if it did happen. Halo is a fixed storyline, so the scene would end up like the end of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Pull the trigger, or you’re stuck on this scene forever.
I doubt it’ll happen any time soon though, even if all.
I’d be pretty angry to have to kill chief, I hope the scenarists understand that they can’t do such a thing without radically changing what Halo is about…
I would pause and save the game at that point and go straight to multiplayer sorry been playing since ce i do not see john as a traitor but definently a hero
I don’t think I could, I struggled to press RT in Halo 4 during the climatic moment. Wasting away my Hero is not easy! Especially when I am one of those people who yell at my TV screen when something is going to happen on Walking Dead to my favorite characters… (I miss Merle). I most likely would have to press it to continue and be emotionally distressed for the next forever.

The irony of the fans killing Master Chief based on the rude comments left on these this forum would be so ripe.
Still I think they might do something like what happened in Crysis, the last owner of the suit, Prophet, dies but his memory is somehow passed by the suit to the new user because of the suit developing a symbiotic link with the ceph technology, we could have the same thing in Halo except ceph technology would be replaced by forerunner technology and Locke would be the new owner of the chief’s armor and get passed his memory because somehow it might be his only solution to know the truth?
Just a theory though, could be interesting but I don’t think I’d like it…
Absolutely no way in hell. I’d sooner pull the trigger on the game disc and write 343 off as loser devs…but I have some faith that they won’t be that stupid.
I mean they can’t be that stupid…
Master Chief is one of the driving forces behind my love of Halo, the ultimate warrior, humanity’s greatest hero and champion, someone to look up to and admire who never backs down, never loses hope, never shows fear.
If 343 killed him off, by making him a traitor no less, then they’ve lost me. They’re already on thin ice with me after what happened to Buck’s squad.
I honestly couldnt. He’s my ultimate hero
I’m 30 years old and the Chief makes me feel like I’m a kid again. He’s everything to me in a game character but I couldn’t pull the trigger. I had hard enough time replaying the last mission in Halo 4 in the MCC knowing what was going to happen to Cortana. Chief would be unbearable.
