I had Hologram, Camo, and the shield. So, then I bought auto sentry and placed it on a loadout. I wanted to place the other three on different loadouts… except the hologram was no longer available. It indicated that I needed to purchase it again. Why? Can you not own more than three armor abilities at a time??

No, once you unlock something it should always be available for use in customization. I have no idea what the problem is though. Maybe a bug? Just repurchase it.
Sounds like a weird bug. Like DeM suggested, I’d try repurchasing it. The Spartan Points are always refunded in cases like this. If it persists, come back to this thread.
