Yea but 343 Guilty Spark was a physical robot thing, AIs like Cortana and Serena are like virtual things, so how would it be possible to kill them?

Well, I’m sure the actual method is more complex than I make it. But I do recall Dr. Halsey deleting an AI by using a beam of UV light that destroyed the AI.

Halsey used a UV beam to physically destroy Kalmiya’s (and Araquiel’s) Riemann Matrix… I guess it’s the equivalent of killing an organism by frying its brain with radiation.

She did, in First Strike. But there are many ways to kill them, you could corrupt them, use a virus, EMP.
It might be hard to kill some AI’s though. They can survive in networks (mack in Contact Harvest).
Possibly in slipspace and they can fight back if they break free from their programming… Which the Smart AI’s are able to circumvent their programming about not harming humans.

Could probably happen if they go rampant, like Cortana might… who knows.
Mendicant Bias definitely did, and I’m sure the Forerunners slapped him with more safety measures than the Humans did with their AIs.
I thought he meant A.I. as in the video game A.I. I was like “What? There’s no actual killing happening.”
