Seriously, it’s probably half the reason I keep seeing title posts that look like that ^
As far as I know, it’s a forum software bug, nothing 343i can do about it.
Aren’t they using some “yet another forum” software? Which is open source. Which means they have all the forum code, and are free to modify whatever they want, so the “they can’t do anything about it” line is just false. They are, however, free to choose to leave things as they are. Since there are other more important things they’re trying to do.
The forum displays titles in actual capitalization on the forum index pages, but shows all caps on the individual topics and when creating a topic. So it keeps track of the user’s capitalization choices, and seem to just use whatever the C# ASP.NET equivalent of php’s “strtoupper” function to display the title in only caps in a few areas. It would not be difficult to find that function and remove it. But, again, they seem to have other priorities.
