So if you can fall of the ring how far away can you fly off the ground of the ring? Is there a sky boundary or wall boundary to a certain point like in every other halo game?
Also will there be space related mission objectives in in reach?
One can dream
Honestly, I dont know for certain but the common trend as of late has been probably a no at launch and then 2-4 years after release they may get added.
There will probably be a gravity boundary. You would need a ship with the ability to hit the relevant escape velocity.
I honestly found this question to be pretty vague, despite its simplicity.
I expect there will be a death barrier that kicks in a few seconds after falling from the edge.
As for a skybox limit, I’d imagine there will be a limit, and it won’t be in space. If there are any space sections, I’m guessing they will be mission objectives that take you outside the ‘map’, and wouldn’t necessarily be explorable (if the game has some kind of post-campaign explore mode).
Given there are flying vehicles, there will almost certainly be a height limit. It will probably be significantly higher than in prior games, but you’re not going to be flying yourself to the other side of the ring.

Escape velocity is really only a thing for objects that have gravity as the only force acting on them. As long as you can create enough thrust to counteract the local gravitational acceleration, you can escape a gravitational well even if you’re moving at a literal snail’s pace the whole time. In a video game with flying vehicles with infinite fuel, it’s not really possible to trap them with gravity.

A height limit is pretty much guaranteed, the only question about it I am wondering about is how it will be enforced, either a just an invisible barrier that keep the player from passing through it or a 10 second warning that leads to death if you don’t go back where you are supposed to be or if 343 have come up with something else. The height limit likely will be relatively high compared to previous games and part of why I am saying that is there are supposedly parts of the game where you fly to damaged parts of the ring that are mostly disconnected and inaccessible from the ground, also from the gameplay we have seen so far there is quite a bit of verticality to terrain and structures.
I think you have to get out before terminal velocity sets in.
I do remember in the last ask 343 they said there would be boundaries so you don’t skip missions by flying elsewhere. Maybe it’ll be like halo 3 sandbox where the guardians shoot at you. Now that I think about it the orange light that the warden eternal shoots at you looks almost like those guardian beams in sandbox…
Are you talking about getting out of the ring, like, outside of the game map, or outside of the actual ring like going to space??

Yes. I know in the demo your ship crashes but what happens when you get a banshee or something you can fly? I’m wondering if there would be any space missions like in reach.

If the game has any space missions like LNoS in Reach, I think they will be self contained in their own mission/playspace, so to speak. Like I don’t think you’d be able to fly a Banshee up into the blackness of space and then visit some spaceship from earlier. There will likely be a cutscene (like Reach) that is used to hide the game dumping the Main Map and loading in a new area specifically for the space battle.
I could be wrong though.
