Can you duck under melee attacks?

In one of my matches, I got into CQC with an enemy spartan. When he tried to melee me, I pressed the crounch button in haste, which led to him missing the melee and letting me grab the kill. So did 343 unintentionally bring back the ducking under melee from Halo 2(?) or was it a giltch? Stilll, it was pretty cool when I found it out.

The way melee works is that if the target is in your vision, the melee will connect. (within range of course)
You must have ducked down enough that you went entirely out of his vision, so its on him for not having his sight trained on you.

no the reticle has to be right on target or you will miss, i swung at some one who was cruoching once and bc my ret was off by a few pixels it missed entirely

So, ducking under a melee attack is a viable stragety, just difficult to pull off? That’s interesting.

Ducking under a melee was so awesome back then. You could also side step a sword. I havent tried ducking in this game when the melee is coming, but melee system is terrible in this game because of the disabled collision.
