It always has been possible, it just depends on the wave/vehicle. On the last wave on Attack on Sanctum where you fight the 4 Promethean Knights, you’ve always been able to hijack the Phaetons.
given that i had a named banshee in my face for 2 minutes with no board option i’ld say … NO. it was a cover/epic placement thing. but un-named vehicles should be jack-able. they can board us. why the hell should we not be able to board them?
From my understanding, legendary boss vehicles cannot be boarded.

I think it might be like assassination protection against bosses. They’re minions can be assassinated even with shields up, but you have to wait for their shields to drop on named bosses (or for knights drop off their back armor).

Yes I tried it 2 times. Both on Attack on Sanctum round 5. Both Wraiths.
Makes no sense though. Why allow it on some vehicles and not all. They can board us too we should be able to board them too. Would be more fun.

You shouldn’t! 
A Plasma Pistol single handedly allowed me to win that wave the first time I played it, since I captured an enemy Phaeton and used it to take out 2 knights on my own!
All I can add is that I could hijack a Soldier’s Ghosts last time I played WZFF on Urban. It seems to be case-specific.
Huh…I tried this time to be 100% held X to board. But I couldn’t board the wraith. Is it cause an enemy was already boarding it ? Makes no sense.
I held X the circle went up to 90% and just nothing happened. I died after trying for 20 seconds. Why give me the option if I can’t board.

So you got a slightly used Phaeton for less than half of its REQ cost? I should start stockpiling plasma pistols…
I got an option to board a Banshee Raider “escort” banshee in regular Warzone but I wasn’t fast enough to press X.
I can confirm that boarding is not allowed in this game mode. Changes have been made since the beta that prohibits any player from boarding and taking any vehicle, including getting in a passenger seat of an enemy warthog. I’ve EMPd many vehicles, but no vehicle can be boarded. Anything above uncommon vehicles cannot be taken. This includes:
- Banshees - Rocket Hogs - Ghost Ultras - Wraiths - PhaetonsEdit: if anyone was able to board any of these vehicles successfully without dying or the vehicle exploding, then it most likely was a bug or glitch.
To clear this up, right now Warzone in general does not allow you to board unimportant A.I controlled/owned vehicles, like you cannot board a non-boss banshee on Apex 7 (possibly to prevent players from getting free banshees for killstreaks) which I have attempted before. Vehicles are only able to be boarded if an A.I hijacked a player owned vehicle and used that against you.

Again, this really depends on the map and round. Like I’ve said, I’ve boarded a Phaeton before, but only on that specific round 5. I, for example, cannot board a Phaeton on A.R.C when defending the garage, but I can on round 5 of Attack on Sanctum. And I’ve done it more than once as well. Many others have confirmed that it is a case-by-case scenario. It’s not a bug or glitch, there just isn’t one general rule that covers the whole gamemode.
What you could do is EMP it, as in “emp” it, then go up to it and see if you can board it.
