Can X1 and 360 LAN?

After hearing Halo Wars was coming to Xbox One this December, I was thinking of buying another copy of the game so my Sister and I can play together.

Can the Xbox One and the 360 connect with each other via LAN? I know we can party up over XBL but is LAN possible?

I apologize for bringing this back up but since Halo Wars is out now for One, does anyone know? I can’t find an answer anywhere…

I doubt it dude would Microsoft go that far? It would be nice but i bet not

I don’t think you can stick an ethernet cable from your Xbox 360 to your Xbox One, but if you connect both to your Wi-Fi, it could act like a LAN. That is how people do it for the MCC when they have LAN parties. For the most part.

No. The Xbox One has no LAN capabilities. Some of the Xbox One games have a “system link” feature but it’s nothing more than an online, private, custom lobby.

Trust me, I run a video game business. I picked up 16 Xbox One’s on launch day with plans on hosting a tournament but was beyond furious when I discovered that the Xbox One’s don’t LAN. For whatever reason, Microsoft thought it was a good idea to take it out. I’m guessing because everyone flipped out over the “Your Xbox will need be connected to the internet at least once every 24 hours” deal when they announced the Xbox One. When Microsoft or 343 or anyone says something about a “LAN Event” or “LAN Tournament”, it’s false advertising. The only aspect of their events that falls under LAN is that everyone is in the same building for the event. Every Xbox One REQUIRES an internet connection and a valid XBox Live gamertag to do anything multiplayer related

Thanks for the replies guys.

So if both consoles are connect to the internet, you can somewhat “LAN”. But can a 360 account that doesn’t have Gold be able to play with an ONE account with Gold? By the sound of being online, guessing both accounts have to Gold…
