I mean come on. I love being able to customize my guy. But having 5,000 different options of everything and getter 30 of each item BARELY any different is a waist. You could you know of made more maps and fixed the spawns…I mean ya knowjust saying…

Reach had the perfect formula and the problem with Halo 5 customization is that you get the same armor variant but with a different skin. Along with that that design is poorly done yet again. I don’t like having my Spartan looking like a power rangers mixed with forerunner tech…
For real. We need full armor customization and some less options. All these options make pretty much everything less unique and memorable.
I think it’d be cool to have just like 50 full armor options.
Bring back Reach’s armour customization. I’m tired of running into the same Recruit or Warrior armour five thousand times just to get that single weapon REQ. And I also miss Reach’s darker colours.
Ya can thank the req system for all the repeats. They needed a way to extend the grind. It’s easier to put six different paint jobs on one ugly armor than to make six separate nice armors

It’s important to be clear that having more options is always better, just please don’t make 66% of those options be copies of the other 33% with poorly done racing stripes.
More ACTUAL customization would be preferable. More color options, with tertiary colors. Weapon skins that apply to ALL weapons, not individually unlockable (Aside: Who was in charge of this? Punch them for me, please!).
The amount of unlockables having been padded with useless crap is actually a bit insulting to us, IMO, as if we aren’t smart enough to know that it’s being done to fill out slots and slow things down. I’d rather have slower unlocking than to have to unlock endless amounts of garbage filler. Poorly veiled deception is worse than blatant railroading.
More isn’t better always. There’s way too many rare emblems for example. And there’s only preset color schemes for them. I really wish they would have separate reqs for customization and weapons. I don’t want to wade through all the emblems and armor variants to get sentinel BR or DMR.
I have to admit, some repaints of armour look really good. Others seem barely different. I think it would be nice in the customisation menu to have a section for each type of armour. In order to unlock the section you have to get the armour in a req pack but then when you go in to each type of armour it would bring up a menu of the different skins you could buy with req points. Either than or just have a menu system anyway so its easier to find the armour you want in your menu.
I like having to collect them all anyway… im one of those people.

Reach armor looked awful to me…plus people praise its in depth customization but you wanna know what I saw? 3-4 things to add to your head which you’d never see anyways. Halos customization really won’t matter until it’s not a fps.
I thought that they already reduced the customization in Halo 5.
Halo 4 you could change leg, torso, helmet, shoulder and gauntlets out to seriously specialize your armor.
Halo 5 … helmet and full armor assembly. Granted, there’s a butt ton of options available to choose from, but most of them, as mentioned above, are very forgettable.
Don’t forget that Halo 4 also had arm and leg options in addition to everything else. It was missing armor add-on variants(like bandoleers, ammo pouches, extra armor layers, etc) so just combine all the options to give full customization on every level WITH the vast amount of sets to choose from and add-on variants and it would be balls to the wall awesome.
Reach had a good system but I did not like its armor. It’s really bulky and looked cumbersome. People running around with a knife on their chest and each shoulder looked ridiculous.
My friends and I always joked that they might as well add tank treads for legs as an option.
They need less variants and more colors. I tried to make a master chief guy, but the green isn’t dark at all and looks like a mint leaf. I’m fine with the armor, helmet, visor customization. Before, all the geometry was going into each other and it looked messed up. Plus, most people just look at the helmet and judge your Spartan based on that. Nobody goes and says, “woah!! Look at that chest plate!!!”

So polishing a turd makes it shiny but last time I checked its still a turd.

Correction on that statement of yours, Reach might of had Variants to their armor helmets and anything else but they add differences rather than a copy and paste skins here and there.
I love the amount of armor you can use in h5, but I’m annoyed by the skins taking a slot in the armor selection. Just have a list of icons of all armor types (the way it is now), but then you’d click on one to see which versions of it you have unlocked for use. That way it won’t have clutter and it will be much more organized.
What did you say about my waist?!
totally agree BRING BACK REACH’S CUSTOMIZATION
I don’t think that the amount of content is the problem. I think the problem is how you unlock things, and how the UI presents them. If they adopted the UI from Reach were you first select the base item, and instead of picking an attachment (because lets me honest, those sucked) you picked the skin, and everything was laid out in a much more orderly fashion.
Emblems should go back to how they were before 5, but give us a full color wheel and not a small selection of colors. It’s shockingly obvious that they only did emblems this way so that they could frustrate people and force them to buy REQs to get what they want.
Ideally I see the REQ system moving forward as something that unlocks skins for weapons and armors, while the base item for all of those things can be earned in game without having to rely on luck (whether that be through achievements or buying things from the Armory directly). An example would be, if you beat the game on legendary you get the Mark VI helmet and armor, but in order to get skins for it you would have to buy REQ packs. These should obviously still be able to be earned through playing the game. This system would encourage people to play other game modes more. People that got their fancy Mark VI skin, but haven’t played through the campaign yet would have to in order to wear it. Campaign people that have Mark VI but want that fancy skin would have to try their luck at REQ packs and multiplayer. Everything should be connected.
I feel like the way it’s presented is the problem. There’s no taxonomy or hierarchy to the UI design. Consider this: What if, instead of having 85 different cards for different variants of ARs, you only had the one option? Then, what if you can proceed to customize after you select the AR by attaching different pieces.
Sounds a lot like some other games, doesn’t it? That doesn’t make it bad. In those other games, when you’re drilling down through those menus, you’re essentially doing what Halo 5 has done with all of the customization options. For every combined variant you choose, there is that one item in the database. The only thing that’s different is how you arrive at that choice.
