Can we talk to 343&MS about Blur series of films?

So after watching the E3 trailer, we were all blown away. 343 and Blur really love teaming up, and it always looks spectacular. I mean look at the work they’ve done; Halo Wars, and Halo 2 Anniversary. Everyone agrees that when 343 brings Blur into the mix, it’s a work of magic. For years now MS has kinda wanted to make a series of films, live action mind you. However, I don’t think that the way it’s should be done. I think the best way to make Halo films is for them to be CG work, with the CG done by Blur. We’ve all loved the work Blur has done and agree 343 makes the right decision when they hire them on. What I think we can do is if we are able to talk with some peeps from 343 (ie Frankie and Bonnie) and convince them this would be the way to go. Then the big problem is getting MS themselves to have this work. Phil Spencer loves Halo, that much is clear, and wants it to continue to make money. There’s no way a series of Halo films WOULDN’T make money, it’s one of the biggest brand names ever. I’m hoping if a group of us fans can ever sit down with Frankie, Bonnie, and Phil, and explain to them how this would be amazing idea. I know it’s a long shot, but both Frankie and Bonnie have said they want to craft a series of films, and I’m sure Phil would be interested as well. Do you think if enough of us are able to talk with 343 and people from MS, a series films could be possible. And instead of live action and relying on another studio, they could work with Blur and finance it themselves (they’re MS for God’s sake). Like I said, I think it’s a long shot, but with if enough of us vocal, maybe they will listen and start thinking about it, what do you think. Can we have this happen?

Sounds like an amazing idea. How about a CG First Strike ? I think that would be epic.

Dude, the novels and games done in CG, would be the best thing ever. We need to talk to some peeps from 343 about this. Let’s have this happen ant like Comic Con or PAX.

There is already a tv show being made by steven spielberg. Sadly i dont think nlur is helping with this, but it would be awesome if they would.

If I had to guess due to such delay and no word, either Speilberg left the project or 343 booted him off. I would love a series of films that are adaptations of the books and games.

The CG in the live action is done ‘okay’ to ‘pretty bad’. That’s why I think if they are to do this, the films should be done 100% CG and working with Blur. They wouldn’t have to hire big actors, they have motion capture actors and the voice talent.

Also, having them done CG would be better, as then you could have a motion capture actor portray them, and then have the character look however you want. I don’t want to see somebody like Jesse Eisenberg or Jennifer Lawrence appearing in a Halo movie. They already have a ton of motion capture talent in house, they’re perfectly fine. Plus, it’d be impossible to do the Primordial live action, he’s 50 feet tall, and Forerunners are around 9-11 feet.

For the order of the movies, I would have it be like this

  • Halo: Contact Harvest - Halo: The Fall of Reach - Halo: The Cole Protocol - Halo: The Flood - Halo: First Strike - Halo 2 - Halo: Ghosts of Onyx - Halo 3 - Halo: ODST - Halo: Cryptum - Halo: Primordium - Halo: Silentium - Halo: Glasslands - Halo: The Thursday War - Halo: Mortal Dictata - Halo: Last Light - Halo: Hunters in the Dark - Halo 4 - Halo: Guardians

Please don’t bump your post like that OP

Okay, no prob man, thanks for letting me know.

I’m all for making CG movies, but make the movies original stories canon to the expanded universe, not adaptations of existing material. They would be insignificant, because they would most likely contradict the novels since they’re adapting a book into a 2 hour film and thus would be non canon.

ehg, but the novels and games have too many amazing moments that seeing them on the big screen would be the best eva. If they do this, have the full cut of each movie be around 3 hours long, then cut it down to 2 and a half hours in the theatrical release. I’m actually beginning on crafting scripts for the novels, just to see how it would work. And I’m all for all new stories fresh to the silver screen. I would say the brand new stories would come after the adaptation of Halo 6.

Also, another way of doing this would have a PG-13 theatrical cut, and an ‘ultimate cut’ which is rated R, released on Blu-Ray. The books can go into some pretty graphic detail, and would not do well in theaters with an R rating. The theatrical could be be around over 2 hours (depends on length of book and game). The extended cut would be over 3 hours.

If Halo 5 had it the cinematics would look good and better than now.

Oh, if they were given the Blur treatment, true.

Or at least have the cinematics from the first mission and when chief met Cortana at least.

Or the awesome one at the beginning on Battle of Sunaion, with it redone by Blur.

I agree that Blur should make a full Halo movie. I think Halo: First Strike would be a good novel to adapt from.
