I’m a fan of the halos and their functionalities with and without sprint I want to clear that up before I get into this very loaded topic. However, the sprint in Infinite seems to be some weird middle ground of the old and new style where you can sprint but don’t really go anywhere. I don’t think this is an insanely big issue but it’s kind of really annoying and feels poor compared to one of the other options. I would be completely fine with keeping the formula as it is and having a pretty fast sprint like 4 and 5 or taking it away completely and going back to the traditional style of no sprint like 1,2, and 3. The current choice in my opinion feels clunky and redundant, also in the context of playing as the spartan super solders, a bit underwhelming and a poor portrayal. This is a link to someone on twitter that has done a little bit of research into and has found that the sprint only increases your movement by about 9%, the video makes the problem a bit more clear in my opinion. https://twitter.com/TheNadeGod/status/1421193675514728455?s=20
I’m sure many other people have talked/shared their thoughts about it as well as made some analysis on it, but I wanted to bring it up here because its probably my biggest gripe with the game so far. I have really high hopes for infinite and have enjoyed the majority of what I’ve played so far, but this is something that I definitely would not be satisfied with if it remained unchanged. Let me know what you think.
It’s the middle of have it or don’t have it. I like how 343i made an option for the people that hate the sprint and the people who it’s ok with it. I’ve been playing since Halo CE came out. A few weeks ago, after played Halo 5, I return to Halo CE and 2 on MCC and the speed of movement it’s too different. The movement on Halo CE and 2 it’s faster than Halo 5, but the sprint make easier to move over the map. With Infinite there’s no differece between one and another. Even if have a little porcent of difference between sprint and walk, there’s no need to change anything on it. I been in love with sprint since Halo 4 ('cause I truly hate the armour habillity of Reach) and have it back give me the feel or move faster (even it’s just a little lie). They give us options and I’m happy to embrace sprint again and not walk just like on Halo CE - 3.
There is a megathread in the Infinite forums for discussing Sprint, feel free to continue there
