Can we talk about the Forerunner Cannon?

Am I the only one here who absolutely hates the way that 343 changed the Incineration cannon? All I see now are people holding down the trigger and walking around getting pathetically stupid kills. Sure it does drain the battery but it’s also a extremely powerful weapon that can basically kill Spartans across the map.
343 please change the cannon back the way it used to be. (Where it would fire if you held it for too long)

Funny i was just thinking about this last night. I was playing super fiesta and whenever i got a good gun some guy with an incineration cannon would be waiting for me around the corner. It was pretty irritating.

Wait, when did this happen? Are you talking about a variant? Because I played BTB last night and didn’t notice this when I used the cannon.

So using the weapon effectively makes the kills ‘stupid’? I’m not sure how you can justify that.

You can kill people across the map with a lot of weapons including rockets.

I seem to recall H4 using an ammo system and pull the trigger for explosion. Are you sure you aren’t confusing the incin cannon with the railgun?

You could argue that the H4 version of the Incineration Cannon is even better than the H5 version. The H4 version fired full power shots with every pull of the trigger and had a wider area of effect thanks to having a second detonation after making contact with something. So I’m not sure why you think going back to that would make your encounters with it any better.

I think it’s fine as is, I don’t recall the incineration cannon ever automatically firing after holding the charge to long. As far as you can kill Spartans cross map with it you can do that with quite a few weapons, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, grenades, or grenade launcher. I would rather cross map some one with a rocket launcher, there is something satisfying about hearing that “rocket mary”…

I understand why you want it changed but just think of how irritating it would be if all they had to do was pull the trigger to fire instead of charging it.

En it’s ok. Regardless you’d die most of the time with the dubstep cannon it only changes the fact I’ll die to it 1 more time over when I could of taken it. I like it and I don’t see people hold it down for any more than 5 seconds

I think you might have forgotten that it’s a Power Weapon…
It’s called that for a reason.

I thought this was going to be about Forerunner lore. The chances of you living if they charged the cannon after they saw you isn’t much higher so I don’t see it as an issue. They also have the two smaller shots if they don’t charge it which means you’re likely to still get hit with it.

In superfiesta its annoying sure. But in warzone they are just simply calling in a limited REQ. And if they want to drain their battery that way that’s fine with me. Rather I hate the change they made in the binary rifle from halo 4 to 5. I dislike the laser style of the forerunner sniper. I preferred halo 4s bullet disintegration.
