Genuinely curious here, not looking to get into a heated debate about it. Here’s my problem: the pace and sound of the H5 BR throws me off. Sounds kind of like a 2 round burst to me, and then there is a small period of silence after the burst before I can shoot again. It makes pacing my shots really hard. Call me crazy, but I miss the H4 BR (or any other, for that matter). I feel like I’ve always been able to control bursts comfortably. I just get frustrated with the new H5 BR. Anybody agree with me? Maybe I need to lay off the shrooms.
I agree with your last sentence. 
yeah the BR changed too much. it almost feels like a short range DMR. i think they increased the burst cycle to prevent “sweepers” from abusing it.

“sweepers” that’s something I hadn’t considered. As in, the whole thing fires faster so you can’t “drag” the burst across another player?
I find myself waiting around to fire the next burst.
Feels like the Halo 2 BR to me just with a lot less aim assist.
It feels less powerful than before
I typically just end up relying on the magnum.
I like the BR. It useful but not overpowered. But I will have to try it again and pay more attention to the sound.
It took me a little bit to figure out the pacing, but I am okay with it. Just keep using it and you’ll be fine, if you aren’t already.

I agree, I can’t quite pinpoint why though.
The BR seems less powerful then it has in previous Halo games. To similar to the DMR and not what a true battle rifle should be like.

That is called balance… I will leave the choice as to whether that is good up to you.

I think the BR feels the best it’s ever felt in Halo 5. I actually hated the Halo 3 one to spite spending a good chunk of my twenties playing Halo 3 lol.
I hate the reticle for the halo 4 and 5 battle rifle. The smaller circle in the middle really annoys me for some reason.
I kind of love how the BR looks as if it has literal horns now lol.
