Can we talk about how ALL the chest armor is grey? They don't change colors at all

I noticed it during the flight and REALLY noticed it with the Reach armor core. No matter what coating your chose (I checked with the very colorful HCS coating) the chest armor does not change colors.

It’s one thing if we are talking about smaller attachments like the Reach Breacher or Ammo pouches. Grenadier and ODST, two very large chest pieces that nearly cover all of the torso, should not stay as grey blobs. These larger chest pieces should be taking the primary color of the coating.

They don’t feel like extensions of the armor, just grey blobs tacked on. It’s even worse in that they are the ONLY parts that don’t change based on coatings. It’s just an odd design choice I really don’t understand.

This has also been bothering me since the flights. It really is silly, all the attachments should change with the armor coating. Otherwise, what is the point of the coatings if large attachments never change color?

Exactly my thought. I think the ammo pouches are fine, but any actual “armor” should change with the coating. Big pieces should take on a coatings primary color.

Yeah. I don’t mind the cloth material as much, but the metal attachments should definitely be made to change with the coating. It just looks off if your armor isn’t grey as well.

I 100% agree. All the chest armor feels like its slapped on and not part of the armor. obviously the best way to resolve this is to have it match the armor coating.

I actually like it not changing with the armor because of the issues I had with Halo 4’s armor customization (you could barely tell what someone was wearing) and because HP/HALO was my favorite chest-piece in Reach.

It should be an option for people who want it, but my fear is that it’s just going to be a solid color instead of having any unique design on it. It would be different if you could add colored stripes or your emblem to the armor piece.
