Can we talk about costumization?

I wanna say first of all that when I saw the picture with the numbers of the costumization options I was blown away and today I came to the website to see all the armor there is and well… it sounded way better than it actually is. Thumbs up on the Visors (and the weapons I guess, haven’t seen them),

I’m gonna be comparing it to Reach since it had IMO the best costumization out of all halo games.

Like I said by the numbers it sounded like a lot but then you realize that there is a lot of stuff that repeats, changing only the color pattern.

Suggestion: Make all Armors without color and then do a couple of color patterns that you can choose from and put it on your armor and let us move it around to create a more unique look.

Helmets: I’m not sure if this game has more Helmets than Reach tbh. In Reach every Helmet had 2 accessories that you could choose to use or not. In 5 there are some with just a minor change from the previous one pretty much like a Reach helmet without accessory A/B or with A/B. If Reach would have listed the helmets like Halo 5 does every single one would count as 4. No Accessories. Only Accessory A. Only Accessory B. Both. If Reach had 50 helmets that’s already 200 if you list them like Halo 5. At least giving us the Reach Helmets would be nice, I think most of the Halo 5 ones are pretty lame but that’s subjective so I don’t complain. what I complain is the rework done on some. The Security Helmet is just garbage now compared to Reach imo.

Colors: Few Options and all are to light. Where is my dark green? There is like 7 different pinks but only 2 I would consider green and only 1 red. the orange is also to light nut that’s a general problem since I think every color is too light. Where is purple? a dark purple.

Suggestion: How hard is it to let us create our own color? How hard is it to but a box in the game like there is in MS Paint with all the colors and you can move your cursor around to chose from thousands of colors instead of the around 25 that are in the game?

What I was the mosted disappointed with was that armor is the complete thing. I really thought it was like in Reach that you could choose right arm, left arm, chest, legs instead of the whole thing.

If you do the math I’m pretty sure that the chances of your character being unique is smaller than it was in reach (not counting weapons)

That’s all for now, just wanted to give some constructive critique even though none of my suggestion will ever find its way in to the game, Its not killing the hype for me because tbh I don’t care about costumization, what I mean is that if it would launch with 0 costumization I would be om with that. I wanna play Halo and not costumize a character but its nice to have and when its in the game I like to have something cool obviously.

The color options are not great.

There’s still a ton of armor. No one should of thought it was 175 UNIQUE armor sets. It’s more like 65-70. Which is still good.

Its ok. But the numbers they had were very misleading, I was thinking this had more costumization than all previous halo titles combined going by the numbers. Reality is that it has less than reach.

I think armor looks good. I do miss the greater customization options. Reach and H4 were both good IMO.

I forget to mention one thing. Why are all shoulderpads so damn small?

Way back when they redesigned Master Chief’s armor, 343i pointed out that some of the larger and taller shoulderpads would actually restrict movement. I remember a few in Reach that were hugely impractical – a Spartan would be incapable of lifting their arms above their head while wearing those.

OK, to make it more realistic I guess. nut realistically speaking… how much do the new little ones protect you?

Yeah I’m not sure an ms paint like feature would work in any game. I’m not sure how technical it would be but it sounds like it would be difficult to do.

Wut? Tons of games have that option.

for real, can we please be black already, and not this dainty grey…more color options and visible emblems would be ideal

I like a lot of the armor. Somehow I don’t feel that bad about not having individual pieces, It’s strange. Obviously it would be better to have ore options, but somehow the tons of different skins appeal to me. And I think there is an explanation for that.

You see, I always had mixed opinions on how color distribution worked in H3/Reach. H3’s issue was that the legs didn’t have secondary on them. In Reach the Chest and many of the helmets didn’t have secondary color on them. It kind of annoyed me. Seeing so many skins with different distributions of color kind of calls out to me. And a lot of the armors are pretty awesome looking, even as complete sets. And of course they’ll only look better in game. Obviously the quality of the Waypoint viewer isn’t showing you the actual full quality of the armors.

If I had to guess im guessing at some point they removed black… rememberThis picture? Since they claim they’re listening to community feedback if people make an outrage of it they might bring it back.

My assumptions is they’re testing waters early, and post launch might bring back that extensive customization we love. But, that’s just an optimist’s idea, at most they’d need a lot of time to render every single armor piece by itself in a combonation of time consuming, and energy draining hours of man power. So, I wouldn’t hold my breath because at most we won’t see that maybe until community whines enough about customization. It’s like bungie with destiny. It’s easy to take critictisicm by one person, but getting attacked from all directions can spread them thin. Just be glad it wasn’t pushed back till 2016, because of forge or the extensive customization.

Im wearing a spongebob costume

Black was initially removed to do advantages in darker levels. I dont like it but I get it

“Costumization” as is what’re we going as for Halloweeen?

The customization is sorta lackluster, I mean you can hardly mix and match so that you can stand out, now everyone is going to look the same.

I feel like Waypoint messes up the colors so I’m holding off on that until the actual game. As for customization, there is a lot. I’m not upset that some are just different patterns because agree with this

I also really wish they would make black a usable color too -_- I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be

Big deal, you only see your color in FFA anyway which isn’t ranked. Isnt playing Team Blue on Eden an advantage? or even in the breakout maps from the beta? ( I’m sick of red vs blue, every other game works just fine without having to make the teams having the same color except for halo)

Agreed, color options have sadly missed the mark.
