Can we stop complaining about free updates?!

First, and foremost, these updates are FREE! Which means that they don’t have to release them. They do it because they want to! If they charged you $20 for every update, then I could understand why you’re so upset… but they’re free.

Second, with Ghosts of Meridian, the new Req sheet is small. This could mean that there is something big coming and they are waiting to announce it. Yes, I know that BTB, Forge, and Grifball were all announced ahead of time. But look at all the hype and disappointment surrounding the fact that we don’t know when Infection is coming. I know everyone wants Infection to be just like it was in Halo 3 and Reach, but 343i made it their own in Halo 4 by making it different. Don’t like it? Well, it isn’t your game! It’s not as simple as it once was, so it’s going to take time. I’ve said this multiple times: 343i doesn’t want to be one of those developers that tells their fans that item X will be released on Y date. They aren’t going to tell us if Infection is coming out until they know for sure that they can release it. Just because it doesn’t appear on the Req sheet doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen. They want it to be a surprise.

Third, with all of the hype surrounding the possibility of Infection, 343i hasn’t stepped in to say that it isn’t going to Happen.

Fourth. Personally, I think that this update title is the one that makes the most sense for them to release Infection. Ghosts?! Well, it certainly isn’t going to be released during Hog Wild. And Infection wasn’t strictly related to Reach, so Memories of Reach doesn’t seem likely (but is probably the latest it will be released.

So, please stop saying you’re never going to play Halo again because they haven’t said when a new game mode is coming. Be patient, and remember: IT’S FREE!

OP, we’ve tried posts like this before. Its just old.

People can think what they want about the updates.

Just because something is free, doesn’t mean it’s any good.

“Free” is debatable

It doesn’t have to be good because it’s free

Is it?

I know I didn’t pay anything for the updates.

Better than costing money and being bad

They can, but will they is the true question and most would answer no

Its the same ordeal as buy two get one free at a supermarket or free games with gold…

They’re not really free as you paid money to be able to get these things…

We paid for these updates…

Not to mention req packs

Halo has fallen so far that we now consider things like big team battle griffball forge and the gravity hammer “free DLC”

I bet when 343i finally gets around to implementing a permenant doubles playlist OP will call that free DLC as well

My favourite game franchise is officially a joke

But that logic isn’t considered when people use the word “free”

With that logic, nothing is free. Your point has some truth to it, but its not really relevant.

When 7-11 does free slurpee day, you might have to pay for gas to drive to 7-11 but the slurpees are still free.

I have not complained a lot. But the game is lacking maps in Warzone specifically. Its pretty pathetic that we only have 4 maps in the premier promoted gametype for H5. We should have twice that many. And we should have Action Sack.

Nobody here called it free DLC, they’re free updates. No one is claiming that these are DLC.

You mean Free DLC right?

Bottom line is that 343 are using these “free updates” to complete the unfinished game they released in October

They’ve always been called updates…no one has ever called them DLC.

Unless you go by true definition here, they aren’t dlcs thats true but by definition (which basically no one uses anymore) they are content that are downloadable, even when you update stuff like your xbox you are downloading content like ui content, or bug fix content

No need for quotes, free updates is the perfect terminology.

What’s your point? Would you rather them not release the content at all?

DLC has a certain quality and quantity of content tied to the name, that’s the point.

I wasn’t aware the two were mutually exclusive.
