Can we spawn more items in forge, 1024 isnt enough

I am making an infection map right now and for 1 corridor I am already at 102 items. Maybe in a future update could we have the ability to spawn in up to 10,000 or even unlimited amounts of items? What even is the point of having a limit.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think that might just be a small cap. I remember reading something posted on ForgeHub that it was a small cap, based on more items will make the game possibly lag. But like I said, not 100% sure.b

you could maybe use bigger items. if its a closed map, it doesnt have to be externally tidy.

1024 is more items than other forges allowed.

So you don’t crash the game by placing too many objects on the map.

Yes but in previous forge modes you could spawn room pieces or building pieces that were a lot more complex in shape but in this one you have to place rectangles which means to build a complex room uses a lot more pieces.

Theres only so much items the xbox can process before things go wrong

Who cares if it go’s wrong, Place as much as you like if it lags then take some away, with scripting you could in theory make parts load as you get close to them

102 for a corridor? That’s way too many, you need to re-evaluate how you’re using the pieces. Considering the fact Halo 2 MCC had 650 limit, this is a massive increase to forge size. My biggest map has around 450 pieces on it. You have a corridor with almost a quarter of that. You’re using too many pieces.

It’s not all about lagging though, it’s about memory limitations that you can’t really allow Forge to break. Sure they could probably push it a little more, but you run the risk of hitting overflows and crashing the game. If we didn’t need to worry about the resources of the X1 then sure.

343 could increase the limit a hair in a future update but easier solution could be to just add pre made structures so it could save us forge pieces and time.

It’s game performance! The game has to calculate the positions of everything during the game. While easy to do for static objects that don’t interact with the environment, there is no way to guarantee you aren’t setting everything you have to normal physics. You would be left with a very confusing system to calculate how many fixed/phased objects you can have vs how many normal objects are on the map.

We need more objects to little is 1600 go to 3000 would be great please. I’m trying to do a little series of video’s. Help a youtuber out.

Please don’t revive old topics, thanks, especially ones that are over 3 years old. This isn’t something that is going to change for Halo I’m afraid, updates like these are out of scope for the game now
