As much as I hate people who steal assassination kills, I still want to keep a level head so I can make sure 343 will do something about this, rather than pass this topic off as rambling, or another ranter who is abusing the forums. I simply wish that something can be done about people who steal your assassinations. I understand that the “fog of war” will always exhibit outcomes where no parties acted deliberately, but how about a rule that gives you the option to boot your teammates if they yoink you. Since there are only 1.9 assassinations for every game, on average. I think this would be more than fair. And if 343 Industries doesn’t feel too lazy, they could make whoever is being assassinated, can’t be damaged by anyone.
Any thoughts on this? Please be sure to like this post to make sure 343 sees it.
I highly doubt they would add that if I see teammates assassinating someone I never steal the kill never have on any halo I’ve personally just disabled assassinating from the game only will ever use it again when I’m playing with friends.
I see why its sometimes frustrating (especially when you are trying to get the commendation) but its part of the game as much as the assassinations. And even its usually done by do*ches it sometimes happens by accident and people could use that on their advantage or to just kick the player just the sake of kicking the player. I think its better to just get the slow kill stealed than get a new epidemic of players getting kicked which doesnt really help the already uneven settings with randoms.

> Why should you, or anyone have to disable a feature that’s part of the game just because trolls love to exploit it? 343 can easily change this.
So let’s say that 343 easily changes this by giving the boot option. Then you enter a match. Then someone yoinks you mid-kill. Then you get the option to boot. What do you do? You can’t know if it was deliberate or “fog of battle,” so you have to guess and react out of adrenaline. Odds are good, especially in your case with a track record of annoyance on the subject, that you’re gonna kick the guy. Then you’re in a 3v4 match. What real good have you done yourself? What good have you done your other two teammates? What good have you done the other team?
Just trying to make sure you’ve really thought this through.

Yeah, as much as I hate people using that ‘343 is lazy’ argument, Assassinations are pretty strange in that scenario. In Halo Reach they rewarded you for yoinking and I don’t think anyone liked that. Here, they don’t say anything and it’s just a bust since you already outplayed the person by hitting them in the back, but! but, removing damage is, well it removes fun sometimes, since your buddy can get assassinated and you have a split second to act before the knife hits wherever it’s supposed to hit, and it’s pretty cool how you can shut it down. I guess they could stop Teammates from taking them, but showstoppers are pretty cool! haha!
Yoinking isn’t breaking any rules, and therefore should not be punished. It sucks, but it is essentially the same as any other form of kill-stealing; it just feels worse because of the flamboyant nature of assassinations.

My thoughts on this…
It just goes to show your…inexperience…
Turn of your assassinations and you will get the kill every time.
Your seriously asking for an option to boot your teammates who you rely on and need to win games with…
No you cannot punish people who do you a favor and get you back into the action quicker and get you out of a stupid animation where you’re just waiting to get killed by the enemy…
I know how you feel in so many ways 343 could come out with a update to make assassination’s count as a kill as soon as its being done. or just turn the assassination speed up to 130/in instead of 100m)(
It’s annoying, but I don’t mind it for the most part. So long as I don’t killed by my teammate (which happens). And this coming from a guy who was betrayed by a thirsty sniper trying to steal my assassination attempt.
so whart youre basically saying is that people who yoik assassinations whether intentionally or not should be put on a mtchmaking ban? get real… all thats going to do is piss people off even more than they already are at 343. especially if it was unintentional. i’ve even been kicked of of btb matches for unintentional teamkilling. let’s face it as soo as anyone get the option to boot, there is no hesitation they boot. some people even intentionally try to get you kicked by standing in the way of your vehicle, walking intentionally into a splitter grenade, or just waiting for the proper opertunity to spartan charge you as to give the enemy a kill becasue it not technically classifiied a betrayal, even though it was clearly done on purpose… smh at this point the amount of issues with the game is breaking the community and dropping player counts. i myelf have lost faith in 343’s abilty to fix the game. it’s pointless to even try to complain. just hit 343 where it hirts most i say, their wallets and dont play the game anymore. im even concidering boycotting the next halo game…

No. Get over it, learn how to get assassinations when theres no one to steal your kill. Grow up, no one is adding a boot option when people steal your assassinations

You don’t, you call for a stupid “solution” to an in-existent problem which only affects people who are not wise enough to turn their assassinations off.
That is the risk/reward to having assassinations on in the 1st place. Sure you can make the enemy look stupid, but you are also left vulnerable to anyone and everyone, be it an enemy killing you and saving their teammate whom you could already have killed, or your own team stealing you kill because your taking to long performing a stupid animation.

This. Assassinations are fun but they are essentially show boating. You have to accept the risks involved. Someone stealing that kill is one of those risks.

Either way, I simply suggested this. I even said (implied) that there were better ways to go about this situation. The funny part is that I get berated by you all, by simply asking for a change, as if to prove a point I was going to raise in a future topic. But, that’s neither here, nor there. I simply asked for suggestions. Since none of you will even attempt it, I will suggest an alternate to my original statement. How about a victim of assassination gains immunity to damage by all players on the instigator’s team? Otherwise, how else am I supposed to get the commendation? I don’t like assassinating, because it takes too long for a single kill, but I just want the commendation.

I don’t think anyone is berating you, they’re voicing their opinion just like you. I myself also don’t feel like punishing yoinkers is a good idea. Every time one chooses to assassinate an enemy, they are choosing to forego an instant-kill for a risky lengthy animation. It’s a choice of risking the kill.
If you’re interested in “better ways to go about this situation” try playing with a fireteam you trust. Be the master of your own fate. Join a company with lots of eager members looking to party up. You won’t get yoinked if you trust your teammates!
Try playing more arena to get your assassination commendation. Swat can be pretty good for them because there’s no radar. Breakout used to be good for them too but I’ll save that rant for the appropriate thread. Haha

Here’s a suggestion. TURN YOUR ASSASSINATIONS OFF.
There are no other solutions or suggestions to be made. Turn it off, or deal with the ramifications of having it turned on. Its pretty simple.
