Aside from feeling very similar, remixes limit the creativity and content of the game.
All of the arena maps in this game are very similar, two bases connected with a large circle. The core gameplay is good, but the maps aren’t really memorable for the reason I just said. Remixes borrow too much of the level that they quite literally end up feeling the same, but with different aesthetics on the walls and a few paths changed here and there. Some people say that they “feel different” but I would say those people have bad taste, considering how objectively bad some of these maps are.
One of the biggest staples to the halo gameplay is vehicles, and some of the best halo maps have vehicles. I’m not talking about btb valhalla, highlands, sidewidner, etc, no I’m talking about vehicle maps suited for 4v4 play, such as high ground, ghost town, ascension, turf, tempest, etc.
Remixes prevent this kind of gameplay, because the current maps we have don’t promote that kind of space, and if they did, they would have to end up removing too many of the assets that they may as well make a new orignial map (which is a good thing btw, but apparently a bad thing for 343). The maps we have don’t really take place in an outside environment like those maps I listed, they all feel contained in some building/sector.
No, because all the maps are either already done or very nearly done. Whether you like it or not, the maps your are getting have long been decided. exempting of course community made forge maps.
People complain that these maps are too similar. I guess you never played Halo 2 where all the maps looked exactly the same and half of them were just cheap knockoffs of eachother. Not to mention these maps play completely different from eachother and really only share a similar base layout.

It’s actually the other way around, not that it’s any better.

Get out of here with that nonsense. Lockout looked and played nothing like Ivory Tower. Coag played nothing like Terminal. I could go on but what’s the point. Halo 2 had the best maps that had the most varied combat in them. Of only Halo 2 had the falcon.

yeah but having a certain campain area is awesome for multiplayer and its new id rather have maps coming from the campaign rather than remixed imagine a genesis map
The only remix I actually want is the remix of The Rig, it’s concept art is really cool looking. But chances are it is “coming soon” just like everything else.

Judging by how these are coming out relatively close to launch, I’d say they probably have plans for new maps coming later and these remixes come out as “fillers” and promote people to come back and check them out.
