I’d get behind this. I actually really like the chatter, but there absolutely should be an option to turn it off for those who don’t.
There should be a volume slider. I’d like mine higher.

Wow…really…! This is the least of our worries…
I don’t mind the concept, just seriously look over the dialogue and eliminate the unimportant. Too chatty right now.

What a nonsense post. What kind of reasoning is that “duh, just mute your tv guys”.
A toggle is the best option. So idiots like you can have your nonsensical chatter and the rest of us can mute them.
How about…as people play and progress, the chatter gets less and less, the “hey the weapons are going to respawn” gets less and less. Then once you hit a certain progression in multiplayer, the game gives you the option to toggle chatter, weapon call outs and that darn ADS (smartscope my butt) on or off. Handholding to hand off.
For the record, I like the callouts, its the stupid “nice shot bro” “watch the 'nade spam” that I would like to toggle off.

I was just about to make a post on this. They are really annoying. I don’t understand people who have to shut others down. Plenty of people don’t like it. A toggle off would be the easiest solution and the best. After flinch, this and the ridiculous post game high-fives are the biggest complaints I have so far. If you have to spend all day telling people something isn’t an issue then it’s an issue. Just because you don’t see it, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a major chunk of the population who finds it repulsive. There is and, while it doesn’t break the game it kills the atmosphere, which is not good either.
Yes…and whilst you’re at it, please have an option to toggle off the announcer. He used to sound badass. Now he sounds like a sports commentator. In a party with friends, I definitely don’t need the callouts.
Edit: I think the idea for individual volume sliders is great, MrDirectorH. Shields, weapon sounds, environment [footsteps], chatter–or character dialogue in campaign, the announcer–all should have individual volume sliders, including mute.

Volume sliders would be perfect. I need louder callouts because I have no friends that play Halo (lol), but some people hate them so they could turn it all the way back.

I agree option to turn it off would be great. It is not needed all the time, especially if you have a good team that communicates well.
