To be honest Fragmentation feels like a Clusterphobic version of Valhalla

I always felt Halo Reach had bad btb maps.
I gotta be the only person I know who hates Spire
It’s one of my favorite maps in Halo.
Actually Blood Gulch could be good again with Infinite’s starting loadout. The entire reason it was bad for gameplay was because CE started you with a cross mapping WMD in your pocket, H2 with BR and Reach with DMR.
Getting cross mapped just ruins the design of the trench style map with 2 elevated side lanes. BUT with Infinite’s AR and SK start, cross mapping would only be limited to in-base Shock/BR/Stalker spawns while players need to run around in the trenches to grab Power weapons.
This is so true. I would also be fine if no long range wepaons even spawned on the map. That woudl let vehicle combat thrive and then you get the closer range combat of spartan vs spartan. I know this would work as i made custom games in Reach with no long range weapons and it was perfect.
Not every weapon has to be on every map. If they would adopt this they come make a lot of maps with specific play styles like heavy vehicle combat, close range combat, aerial battles, long range combat, and who knows what else.
Nah, you gotta have one sniper at least and one EMP weapon, since 343 nerfed the Plasma Pistol. A 12 v 12 Blood Gulch would be hell with no long range weapons. Infinite has sprinting, sliding, and if you allow it, grapple and thruster, so 12 people rushing your base with vehicles and you got AR and Sidekick only since your teammates took the vehicles instead of defending the flag, it’ll be BTB for sure, but you’ll want one sniper and one EMP at least to hold them off a bit longer or stop the Warthog driver
Classic Halo games were all about walking and jumping, so you got picked off like fish in a barrel out in the open. Infinite has a bit more speed to it, especially with super slides and grapple hyper slides. I could whip across Blood Gulch in seconds with a grapple and good slide timing. That being said, the map needs no changes from it’s original version.
Just substitute similar weapons and ability pickups around the map. Having a BR and Stalker Rifle at base is optional.
What about Turf?
Turf is alright. I was specifically talking about BTB maps though.

You want a bad map? Hemorrhage from Reach doesn’t hold one candle to Blood Gulch or Valhalla. Uglier than sin despite the beauty of Forge World and horrible gameplay!

Everyone pointing out that the map has a bunch of gameplay issues is right, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want it. I absolutely understand why balance is so important in an online competitive shooter, but I don’t see what’s so wrong with including a couple maps here and there that are simply pure chaotic fun. I reject the idea that every single one has to be designed around hyper competitive play.
Until 343 understands this concept, the best maps they produce will always be mediocre at best.
Even though I liked Timberland and it’s remake both being in the Jungle - I was terrible and died so much.

Fragmentation is way too cramped for a blood gulch…
That’s exactly why people dislike it. Get rid of the whole middle area and make it wide open, and rotate the bases 45° so the man cannons face the enemy base, then you’d recognize it a bit more as a Blood Gulch Valhalla type of map. It’s still way too cramped to drive around, and vehicles can’t even drive to the locked doors or up hills and ramps, so it ends up a 3 lane with a middle split Big Team Arena map with basically 1 1/2 floors of height
