Can we please get some map variety?

Literally every map currently in Arena is just a 3 floored maps with wide sprint/thruster jumps gaps and clamber spots. Nothing seems to feel unique. I understand if it works don’t change it but atleast try something new.

Even Warzone maps go by their own formula of roads around bases, evelate area,1,2,3 and 4 with a few being tall enough to jump on top of Garage’s. 343i is clearly capapble of making great maps but for some reason have seemed to fall to this with Halo 5.

This is probably why people think Halo 5 doesn’t have too many maps despite it having a crazy amount with Forge. If nothing feels different then how can you know it’s something else?

I recall during Halo 4’s time alot of people complaining about how the Jet pack destroyed map flow and how certain maps we’re just flat out dull yet I’m quite surprised no one has discussed this, or atleast to a point of where I’ve never seen it.

The variety is in the geometry and flow of the maps… So what if there are gaps and clamber spots everywhere? There were plenty of gaps and crouch jumps and movement options all over previous Halos too. Everyone has the same means of getting around.

Now we have Scope/Stabilize jumps in the higher tier of jumping/map movement. Lots of other crafty, not-as-obvious jumps and routes as well.

Plenty of maps in the game are vastly different from the others but we have about a third of the map pool that are too similar to their base-map/remix counterparts. That is what I have a problem with…

My issue with all the jump spaces and clamber spots is that it doesn’t make any one map feel unique they all end up feeling bland because they’re just a trope repeated over and over again. There isn’t much significance in each map besides weapon spawns because each has the exact same thing copied from the last. There are far too few differences between the maps. There aren’t any maps High Grounds, Last Resort, Crows Nest, Citadel or Narrows. It’s all just three different levels of jump spaces and clamber spots.

Everything just kind of blends and for no good reason. Warzone suffers from it as well but that’s more of the gamemode needing to be diverse to accommodate all the various items just bouncing around each match but even on that Note Warzone seems to try to be different but the normal Arena maps are just, well broken record here, ump spaces and clamber spots.

Also you seem unnecessarily opposed to more map variety. How is it a bad thing for the maps to more diverse?
