there could be a point in the mission where he would and plus it wouldnt be pointless at all sense the pelican has heavy weapons
It takes away from the feel of “Halo”, that what they said about Sabre fights in Reach, (that really pissed me off) and what they will probably say about flyable pelicans. Scarab and Phantom won’t be in this game.
I don’t think that you can drive a Scarab. Isn’t that a incredibly heavy infantry unit? (Correct me if I’m wrong)
Anyway I’m fine with that only if I’m able to ride a Moa.

They could have included the flying the pelican in ODST at the very end. In Reach they could have also included flying the pelican in multiplayer/co-op campaign on Long Night of Solace i believe? Where they go to the space station and fly in outer space.

Ending cutscene of Halo 3’s Cortana.
Chief piloted the Pelican. Johnson piloted a Scarab (there was a Reach level in which Noble Six would pilot a Scarab). And the Phantom was hijacked in Halo 3: ODST.
All 3 have been driven by UNSC at one point.

That’s only what Bungie wanted you to believe. The worms on The Storm’s Scarab don’t even spawn until the Scarab reaches a certain point. To hide this from people, they made the shield covering the missing core invincible. You can see the lack of worms in Theater mode by putting the camera in front of the Scarab.
Also, there’s a mod in Halo 3 that allows you to actually drive a Scarab (not merely manipulate it).

You can drive a Phantom and the Pelican as a Reach easter egg, but dude, I would love to drive a Scarab that’s not from Custom Edition.

well the canonicle problem with that is the human covenant war is over so their war vehicles wouldnt be there, where ever cheif has ended up may not even have any covenant or humans on it.
There NEEDS to be a fully pilotable Scarab at some point,even if thats not Halo 4,one of the future Halo titles,but it would be great after being teased for so long just to finally be able to do it,just like Pelican and Phantom in Reach,I waited some 8 years to fly the Phantom and finally did it in Reach and it rocks,the Scarab would be ultimate!

To put it simply, That’d be like attempting to drive a giant Hunter, unless it’s the mining variant, in this case, would be way too big for playability.
halo 2 scarab. it has a controll room inside, in which there is thousands of holographic buttons. Im sure you can remember unlike the halo 3 scarab, was a totally different design, driven by multiple hunter worms
