From time to time I’m always seeing that people complain about farmers while the other side say that they have not been farmed once. Imo if you haven’t been farmed once you either:
A) Always play in a fireteam yourself.
B) Your the luckiest man/woman alive.
C) you only play Arena
However I think the majority of people are under this line:
D) you don’t know what Warzone farming is
This goes for the same for those that complain about being farmed in Warzone. I think we all need to sort this out once and for all.
When I think of Warzone farming, I mean being trapped in Homebase and the enemy won’t destroy the core, and they are all just sitting outside. Sure there are games where both sides are pretty much equal, but you’d think the fact that the enemy has managed to capture all 3 points, they would be capable enough to go into homebase and destroy it. If you don’t think that sounds strange, then how about the fact that some people managed to get inside and bounce around the core room? Sure sometimes the enemy might not have the firepower to destroy the core, but the fact that they never attempted to land a single shot (IF they had the window to do so) would raise the flag that they have something else in mind.
And of course there is the very literate form of Farming where basically you get spawn killed on the spot. If I said that this was the only form of farming, then I would of said that this has happened to me 2-3 times! Take note that I am LEVEL 120. What I find hilarious about this farming business is that people say its ok to do so, no wait sorry, I mean “it’s in the past games”. Please, Lets pretend that Halo 2 had a massive exploit where you cannot die and you will win 100% of the time. Does that mean it’s ok to put it into future games?
By now you are probably rolling your eyes and saying under your breath “just another warzone rant post” or something along the lines like that. So lets just get to the point. What do YOU think warzone farming is. Above is just my opinion, whether you agree or not is up to you but what I want to know is the proper definition of Warzone farming. You might need examples just to give me an idea of what your talking about.
Honestly if they just made more defenses with the homebase like maned turrets with more armored up marines with heavy weaponry along with a bonus for destroying the core, the standoff at homebases doorstep might be less common.
To me warzone farming is when a full fireteam makes early pushes for the middle base and the enemy base, having one guy behind to take the home base. By doing this, they’re already putting pressure on the other team (likely a group of randoms) and with the first few minutes have them pushed into their own core’s base. And with all this effort and early pushing, their req levels increase rapidly while the enemy’s is stunted causing a snowball effect of req levels between 6-8 vs 3-4 allowing for snipers and vehicles to camp outside their core and just farm kills rather than end it all by destroying the core.

You forgot a key factor, “duration.” What you’ve explained so far is just a tactic.
What farming is… when one team has all three bases and then even goes into your base not going for the core itself but for kills. They will skip past or not even shoot at the core and just go for kills. This mostly only happens when one team out numbers the other when others have quit out or the camp just outside your base with vehicles and power weapons and don’t push for the core at all and just wait for your team to come out.
Farming is NOT when one team has all three bases and are pushing for the core… They may even keep all three bases and not get a core destruction because the other team makes a good defence… although some call this farming even though it’s not.
This is why warzone turbo should permanent. You are at max req level at all times so you can always mount a good offense or defense. The way farming happens most the time is when one team starts getting higher reqs faster than the other team.
You should also include the WZA assault variety where a full team on defense takes your spawns and you die on spawn until the time limit is nearly up. Only one member of your team mysteriously takes the first base. And step one repeats as you die until the timer is almost up. And then you mysteriously takes the second base. And then you die immediately upon spawn until the end of the match.
Technically “farming” would consist of ignoring bosses, the core and only going for kills. AKA farming kills. The term is often misused and, while it does waste time and is arguably unsporting, I don’t have a huge issue with it.
Spawn trapping is where you triple cap a team and keep vehicles/players in their core room to force them to spawn in… compromised positions outside. This lets you repeatedly kill respawning players before they can really do anything. It doesn’t happen much, in part because most people aren’t that low. It’s also rare because most teams cannot pull it off. It’s a more severe form of farming. I do have a problem with this practice.
If a team gets triple capped and sets up campfires and tents in their core room, with zero intent to recap a base, it isn’t necessarily farming. Many players mistakenly call this farming when the other team is, in fact, going for the core/bosses.
Farming is spawn trapping a team into their core room for kills, that’s it… But there is a difference between farming and a good defence, a lot of the forum posts are kids whining but in reality, their team was doing all the work.
The goal is to get 1000 points by killing Spartans AI or bosses or destroying the core. Not just going for the core. Sorry that someone or a group plays differently to you. Some take the kill route some take the core route. It is not against the rules to take the kill route. There is no one way to play warzone. There is no such thing g as farming

The goal is to win. Taking longer to win when you can win pretty quickly is just being a -Yoink!-.
Farming = Triple Capping
Being Farmed = Triple Capped

True it is to win but does Palmer go “win the match by destroying the core”? Nope “kill enemy Spartans and bosses or destroy enemy core to instantly win” still not against the rules unless you go by social rules which not everyone shares the same ideas. Just being honest here

It’s really sad that you have to justify your actions like this.

You are welcome to disagree with me I’m not going to flame you. Do you have any idea how many kills you need for the helmet? It’s many many kills

You obviously do not know what farming is, just because they triple capped doesn’t mean they are farming… that just means… they triple capped you…

No, I know what farming is. But with as salty as this community is, my explanation is the term and reason why everyone says they’re farming. You just gotta be triple capped and you’re being farmed, at least 90% of posts are about that.
Edit:
And to add on to it, I was in the lobby with 343i, HaloCustoms, HaloArchive, AND Zanny and we just made fun of the fact that the community gets so salty over being triple capped. Even iSpiteful, as he was the opposing team. (Although it was just all fun and games and luck that we ran into him, he himself sent us a message calling us farmers because we triple capped and they put up a good enough defense.)

This is farming. The enemy team has completed map control and is in your core killing, rather than destroying the core. They likely have vehicles in your core at strategic locations preventing any comeback. I was farmed on Wednesday, the highest level I got to was 2! While the enemy team had tanks and banshees.

Oh wow lol
How to tell if you’re about to be farmed/Rushed
Stage 1. The match starts and you’re immediately barraged by a group of ******s at your side’s armory. They either somehow overpower the players taking it over or lose and regroup at the middle base. If they lose the rush then they turn into stage two cancer: They rush the hell out of your base in droves over and over until they take it, with so much pressure the defenders eventually cave in, there isn’t enough room in a small armory to move around in while under attack.
Ways to solve this: Either beat the team to the central base and control your own armory, or while your armory is under siege take their’s over to split their forces.
To me the most tryhard thing about it is when the enemy team does nothing but throw themselves at a central point until they take it over like wild animals. It’s nothing but an annoyance and you’re forced to play hardcore-defender.
Stage 2. They take all bases on the field and proceed to push you to the core. Now that’s bad, but you could escape and take over another point, simply being pushed to your core is not farming. If they push you to the core is a matter of a minute, that is rushing. What happens next is what defines whether or not your being farming. What is next is **total map/exit control or pushing the core. “**Farming”, or as say “base camping” is when the enemy team stops being offensive, instead they take up defensive positions outside the core doors. It can be hard to notice, but the key difference is that no one on their team attempts to attack the core. Instead, by taking up defensive positions outside and controlling the exit they are farming. By forming a defensive line outside the base they ensure that their targets have no where to go, and when the targets attempt to escape they are dealt with swiftly and ruthlessly. Snipers shoot inwards at the base to execute the cattle, occasionally sniping escapees. Ghosts form a net and ensure no vehicles escape. If a vehicle does escape, a banshee pursues the target before he controls a base.
Basically farming is total control of the entrance to the core without any effort in damaging the core itself.

Spartan Farming (n)- The act of planting Spartan seeds and cultivating for Harvest at a later date. There, hope that clears things up guys.
