Does anyone know if we’ll be able to play as one of the other six characters in single player campaign?
To my understanding, you can pick your character when you play co-op with a friend, I just want to know if it may be possible on single player seeing as they’re putting work into unique HUDs, characters start with different loadouts and I even heard some characters have unique traits (like faster move speed with Kelly).
Sometimes you have those friends that just don’t want to play that mission for the 5th time so you can play as Buck this time, or play this mission again so you can explore to the left side this time, you know? Without splitscreen (no this is not a splitscreen thread, don’t start) and the right friends, some people just wont be able to see the cool HUD on Fred or the better [ability] on [character].
I don’t at all mind playing as Chief or Locke, both are sick characters and absolutely look forward to it, but sometimes its nice to mix things up a little.
Maybe after completion of the campaign or something? Or even the ability to switch to another character mid game, I don’t know but I’d really like to see this.

Mmmmm, damn.
I figured Chief/Locke would just keep all their dialogue and get their own “musketeer” ai, and you just wouldn’t be able to issue orders.

Actually, even if the lower ranked guys were to order the others, it wouldn’t even matter because:
- Its a game
- Halo 4 could have 4 Master Chiefs running around Requiem
- “The Arbiter and the elites will punch down the center” but decide to help Master Chief instead

well in Halo 3 the only other Halo game with different characters for different you had to Play chief in single player.

This is the first time playing as a different character actually will diversify gameplay though that’s the key difference.

Also, this is the first time we are going to have a 4 man squad in every single mission regardless of players
