The first time the Tenrai event was available in Infinite I wasn’t able to unlock all of the items available at the time before it ended. In the second week it was available I was able to complete all of the challenges for the week, yet I didn’t have all the available unlocks due to missing out in the first week. I remember in the Winter Contingency event there were some extra days to unlock items. Would this be the case for this last week, or did I shoot myself in the foot when the first Tenrai week was out?

Yea much like the attrition event that ran back to back, there will be extra weeks to complete tenrai.
Tenrai will run over 6 separate week iirc, but it only takes 3-4 weeks of challenges to complete.
The first week was the best one to miss, as it was limited to only 7 challenges. The second and third have had 10 each, if that trend continues it should be pretty easy for most to complete.

Yeah, it will return at least 2-3 more times I think. There will be a point where you can’t catch up if you are too far behind, but even starting this week you should be able to complete the whole thing before it ends.
