I mean, it has been proven since it’s been out that it’s loved enough to stay. It’s even being played more than certain permanent playlists coughslayerprocough
Instead of keeping it on probation, can we just have SWAT excluded from rotations and stay permanently?
Well, if 343 didnt screw up on the custom game settings, we could have fun-non-competitive gametypes rotating weekly, rather than actual permanent playlists going in and out. Rocket Race? Dodgeball? Even, Griffball, should be those rotating playlists.
SWAT, Grifball, a true FFA mode, 1 way CTF and Race. Why are those modes too much to ask for? I don’t understand why they spend the time, money and energy to create game modes just to remove them or put them in custom games but not MM. I don’t understand how a company can think like that. Do they consider developing a game-mode so cheap that they can add it only for one week or never add it in MM?
Why do they remove modes when players enjoy them? I thought the goal of a game was to be as much fun as possible (equals > even more purchases for 343i).
To 343i: I have an idea, don’t spend money to create game modes you won’t add or won’t keep permanently. Instead, with the money you saved, give us free map packs.
Never really liked SWAT and dont understand what people like so much about it (easy multikills maybe). IMO if there’s anything that makes Halo feel like COD, it’s SWAT with the 1 shot/kill mode.
That being said I do agree with the OP, it has proven to be popular enough to become a permanent playlist (something everyone and their dog could have predicted from the start)

Indeed, I love Halo because it plays so different, but SWAT plays exactly like every other game with the super fast killtimes… It’s always the person who sees the other first always wins.
I’m not a SWAT player but I also think it should stay permanently. With those numbers though, 343 sure as hell won’t take out SWAT. I wish they took out Slayer Pro and replaced it with Griffball/Action Sack/Classic Slayer/Doubles/whatever.

I tend to use it as a warm up whenever I go on halo the first time for the day to get head shot in order. I think it’s a fun gametype and the first to see someone doesn’t always win- I’ve been shot in the back a few times, only to turn round and kill the person. You have to be spot on with the head shot to get the insta-kill.
I agree, Swat should be a constant playlist. I can’t say I have played halo 4 as of yet, but I have played reach extensively. Swat and snipers were basically all I played and were incredibly popular.
To those who say swat is a cod like game time, I disagree. Swat is not a first in first served game. It’s the best aim. There’s been plenty of times I have tried to kill a played first and died. Cod is a spray game, while halo’s swat requires Aim.
They might as well make it permanent. It’s got a higher population than most of the other playlists. They’re just going to announce every week that it was popular enough to stay another week, so it should just be in there forever.
And besides, SWAT was around LONG before CoD became what it is today. Back in the Halo 2 days, CoD was still stuck doing WWII over and over.
Seriously, it needs to be permanent. Make it permanent and you can even add another rotating playlist (not ideal, but hey…whatever)
They could even combine objective playlists…into ONE. If it’s a matter of only being able to have X number of playlists at one time, why would you waste spots with gametypes that should be in the same list?
Blah. They aren’t handling this as well as they could, but I’m willing to give them time to figure out what they are going to do. They might be too focused on CSR at the moment…who knows.
In order for Snipers to come back it needs to be fixed, Snipers does not mean big team maps with 4 people. Snipers should include Shotty Snipes as an option and have the covenant sniper and the UNSC sniper as options.
Shotty Snipes on Ghost Town was the best sniper game I ever played.
