No, just no. Halo from the original trilogy, and H5 had a “Start on equal footing” type of gamemodes.
Team based shooters like Halo make you take advantage of your teammates, your weapons, and your environment for its gameplay.
Giving everyone an Overshield for a staring powerup is too op due to EVERYONE gonna use it. There would be no reason for anything else. Not to mention, these powerups drop on death. If you die with an OS, you’re gonna drop it for another player.
These weapons are meant to be picked up, not starting off with them.
No, thanks. That was Halo 4, and it was widely hated for its “CoDization” of the series. Halo is about balanced starts. Everyone is equal off spawn. Again, you’re describing Halo 4, and it DID NOT WORK. It died the fastest out of all the Halos, because it tried to “go mainstream”. All they did was piss off the old Halo fans, and the ones who liked it for being more “mainstream” moved onto the next big thing (newest CoD, Battlefield, etc.), because that’s what mainstream casual gaming audiences do. Appealing to the mainstream while rejecting your roots never works.
The truth is, you just don’t like Halo. That’s fine. But don’t try to change it to be something it’s not… again.
I hope preset loadouts are an option for Customs, because I want to be able to make class-based modes like Reach Invasion. But hard no to custom loadouts.
Absolutely not, this system completely compromises the gameplay that Halo fans enjoy and come to play Halo for, if you do not like fair starts then sorry, but that’s just fundementally a part of Halo and you should probably move on.
Uhh… Is anyone one going to tell them? Someone is going to tell them, right? I should tell them…
Halo was literally the largest game in the industry for a long stretch of time, what are you even talking about? It only started going downhill when recommendations like OP’s were incorporated (see Halo: Reach and Halo 4). Halo 4 incorporated loadouts fully and it completely neutered the game - it was the worst received halo in the series (from a multiplayer perspective) and a lot of that (bad) reception was because the foundation breaking effect that loadouts had.
If you were around for Halo 4 and Reach youll know loadouts were one of the features players hated because it alters the core game play of halo much more than you would expect when you don’t have to fight over getting the more powerful weapons on the map and have map control over those spawns to get them when they come up.
But I want each individual to pick the class they want within the limitations I set for them, preferably allowing them to change roles as the map progresses and the objective changes. In short, I just want Invasion lol.
I like the Idea but they would have to balance the guns and everything else with loadouts in mind from the beginning like H4. As things are now it wouldn’t work.
They want to prioritize map pick ups but the loadout pistol is still better than most guns so…
Holy cr*p dude! Why are you reacting so offensive? I never even said I didn’t like loadouts. I enjoyed Halo 4. I still enjoy Destiny 2.
But truth is that Halo 4 failed. People who like the OG Halo of equal starts quit Halo 4 after a few weeks/months. People who liked loadouts went back to CoD.
No loadouts, everyone knows most players, good or not, will just use plasma grenades and the plasma pistol like when H$ released and it was the worst. I already hate starting with 2 grenades sense they are lobbed more than bullets are at times.
