Can we have weapon loadouts please

bruh what?

No. I’m fine with new players coming into the game, thats great, my favourite series is getting more players! I just dont see how it is just for someone to play it for their first time, then say “its boring for me, so change the core of the system”.

when the system itself has prove plenty successful throughout time, and made its own “hardcore fanbase” as you say. I mean just look up fastest selling games and you’ll see halo there twice.

“The only people that bought halo before were people that enjoy halo.”

What’s wrong with that? Are you saying that every FPS should follow the same formula because that’s what the “average” gamer likes? That sounds incredibly boring.

“You know what them going free to play is for? Its not to give all you already established halo fans a free game. Its to get new players who arent into halo, into it.”

Uh… what? Those things are not mutually exclusive. 343 set out to make the best halo game they could for all of us, and they did exactly that. They’re making both groups happy. I’m what a lot of people would call a halo purist and absolutely hate the direction they were going with 4 & 5. 343 has done a complete change of course and infinite’s gameplay is impressing everyone, it’s an incredibly fun balance of old and new mechanics.

Exactly dude, basically what this guy is saying I just dont get it.

Oh also, me and my friends like forza, so maybe add a mode that gets rid of all weapons and allows us to drive around and make races on the maps? even more wider base to play

…Do you really how lively and fresh Halo MCC is. with itts 10, 15, 20 year old games?
You aren’t the target demographic for the game here, and I’m not sure why you have’t realized it yet.

You’re literally saying “the game is not for me, you all need to accept that the game needs to change for me, you are not who this game is made for”

I’m not sure if you’re trolling or not. Are you trolling? This is a feedback forum for constructive criticism of this beta, this conversation isnt useful.

Well said.

There’s a reason the series is even still here in the first place, it works at the basic level.

I agree that loadouts should be in the game just not in in every game mode. Maybe BTB only. I loved loadouts in Halo 4 and still think they could make a good addition. I doubt 343i will add them though after getting hate on Halo 4

The funny thing is I hated that Halo 5 removed loadouts. Reach and 4 felt like the natural evolution of Halo to me. Having said that I don’t think loadouts should be in Arena 4v4 or ranked games. BTB only

I don’t agree with your “Halo not mainstream” comment. However, I will say you are not wrong about Halo Infinite being created for a different demographic. I’m an OG player nearly 40 years old, and I have made this point multiple time on these forums.

Don’t get me wrong, Infinite is a fun game, but its not the Halo I’ve grown to love. It’s very different. Maybe it will evolve as seasons progress, who knows.

If all else fails we still have the MCC. If you like loadouts and shuch, I would suggest you try Halo 4, I enjoyed it.

Except, you know, it’s first decade. Except for that, then maybe Halo hasn’t ever been mainstream.

Have you followed gaming history?
Games having a specific idea it builds around do quite well.
However, games which try to capture other games’ audiences rarely do well.
WoW clones failed
Dota and LoL clones failed.
CoD clones aren’t doing well.

Build an intriguing game that players get interested in. Not something you believe everyone will like because that’s shallow, and people already have their own game to play. Why would they play a copy-cat?

I was under the impression Halo MCC is cross play with PC, and then also atleast Halo Wars 2.
Personally, I’d rather have a game I enjoy with a smaller population, than a game I don’t really like and a huge population.
Henche why I’m not really playing BRs, CoD, Battlefield and so forth.

Let’s assume for the moment that Halo Infinite fixes all of its issues and overnight become the biggest games of all time.
Now, if you like some other shooter, are you going to those official forums to say that exact same thing about those games? Battlefield and CoD needs to be like Halo Infinite in order to be mainstream and succesful?

Think about it hard, why does it matter to you how popular Halo Infinite is?

Current year argument and “evolve” buzzword.
No one is arguing against change, but what changes are made.
Odd argument that it doesn’t work given the wide range of different popular games.
And again, why do you care how popular Halo is?

Maybe Halo being mainstream isn’t something others prioritise that much?
Perhaps, people would like Halo to be mainstream on its own terms, and not become something they don’t like, because if Halo isn’t to their liking, it doesn’t matter if Halo is mainstream or not.

Myeah, Halo CE helped launch the OG Xbox to the skies and shaped a genre for years to come, Halo 2 helped e-sports grow and shaped online gaming for the future. Halo 3 saw the continued e-sports support and was immensly succesful, breaking sales records and having a long term big population.

Which hasn’t really been that small with millions of consoles and sold game copies.

Vague bucket list features and mechanics?

That’s only uncalled for.
No one is opposing new players and changes. Just what changes are made.

PS: the changes you are asking for are, b.a.s.i.c.

I really feel like you’re missing the entire point of Halo…

That’s a fair point. And for a developer of any game, balancing appealing to tradition with appealing to a new userbase is a very tricky balance to strike. And ultimately, you can’t please everyone. However, I think that there’s value in doubling down on the core strengths of a franchise’s history while still trying to modernize. I suppose the sticking point here, then, is how successful 343i has been at this task with Halo Infinite. I think they’ve done well, but obviously, there’s plenty of room here to disagree.

In my opinion, and clearly in the opinion of 343i as well, one of the core strengths of Halo worth preserving is its approach to standardized starting weapons and the sandbox providing expanded gunplay opportunities.

I can’t say I’ve bought several games from a franchise I dislike, sooo. Yeah?
People who dislike CoD buys it?

Yeah no, it’s for the “whales”.
Microsoft has seen how big of a monetary success other free to play games are, that they too want a piece of the cake.
Minimal work effort for maximum revenue.

And that is somehow an old Halo problem? What?

Literally weapons on the walls when you spawn.
Halo Infinite also has quite a diverse sandbox.

Doesn’t matter if the changes aren’t liked if the game goes big.

And adding something all those other games have will make it unforgettable? Right?
Not really.

No idea as basic as “custom loadouts” is going to keep the average gamer interested if they already have other titles with those features.

To be fair if you removed the Boltshot, Active Camo, and Promy Vision H4 loadouts wouldn’t be half bad.

Funny that everyone uses Halo 4 as an example of what not to do but it was my favorite play style. The loadouts were unique because unlike COD you had loadout class weapons and ordinance class. I feel like with some tweaking loadouts could have had a good place in some of Halo’s more social game modes. Doubt we’ll see it again and I can live with it but not everyone hated that 4’s style. For the record I don’t like Battlefield or CoD multiplayer. I’ve been playing Halo since CE

Go back to Call of Duty kid. You don’t know what Halo is, and you did that whole laughable write up for something that will never be in the game.

Loadouts have no place in halo, halo is a sandbox arena shooter. It was a horrible addition to halo 4 and should not be repeated

I truly am dumbfounded by this. If I read this correctly, you just want Halo to be Call of Duty. Why? Just play cod?Halo isn’t cod, never has been. Never should be. They don’t need to change the whole identity of the game. It really is ok that Halo is different. You don’t like it, and that’s fine. It’s a free game so no harm no foul.

Why do people keep coming and asking Halo to mirror other FPS games? Halo is meant to be an arena shooter. Everyone has equal access. They tried loadouts in Halo 4 and, surprise, everyone hated it. Please please stop asking Halo to conform to COD, Battlefield, or any other copy/paste shooter.

Yes please because AR starts ain’t it.
